Those damned postal employees

What's Mallard raving about today?

Postal employees.

The best thing about this is that Mallard does not see a connection between the fact that he's constantly bitching about Federal employees in general (and Postal employees in specific) and the fact that his packages get mashed, unlike the rest of us.

Perhaps Tinsley is attacking the USPS because one of his cranky white suburbanite 'letters to the editor' didn't get printed. "Post Office must have lost it."

I think it's clear that his mail-order viagra didn't get delivered in time.

The duck hate for the post office seems so odd to me since the post office is self financing. Not a single of the precious taxpayer dollar goes to those post office fat cats. If anything it's a great example of a needed service that pays for itself compared to something like the airlines which get government bailouts all the time. Is he angry that it is a legal monopoly (although you could argue that isn't true anymore with UPS and Fed Ex)? That it doesn't sell stock and answer to shareholders? That it was created by the government?

Why am I putting this much effort into it? He didn't. Just went through 1001 jokes about the post office and added some pictures.

I think it's a combination of the two: it's a government program that neither enriches the military-industrial complex nor expands the national security state. Reason enough for any good anti-anti-fascist to hate it.

(Word verification: "zzewr" — the sound of Tinshley shitting himself in his sleep.)

I think today's strip is supposed to imply that the Post Office insulted Mallard by saying he has a small tallywhacker.

Then again, maybe I'm reading too much into "bashing my packages".

Gee, I can't begin to fathom why the USPS isn't too interested in giving you quality service, ducks. Maybe you should yell at them some more, and call them incompetent, useless, lazy tools. That'll help.
