What's Mallard raving about today?
China, Prey Animals.
It doesn't happen often, but I'd have to say today's panel is a success, making the point with some actual whimsy and drawings that contribute rather than detract.
The crowning achievement is the two-finned "of dear!" gesture by the shark in the lower left. Nervous Nellie Shark joins Evil Sun and Moody Rat as characters I want to see more of.
All that, plus a respite from the airlines storyline.

And yet, the same old picture of Mallard blobbing in front of his old-school TV, so utterly unchanged from previous appearances that it might as well be copy-pasted.
Still astonished that Tinny hasn't found a way to weld "THEM CHINESE EAT DOGS!" with Michael Vick. (Maybe he was coming off as a little dog-friendly. Don't want to be confused with those damn PETA hippies!)
Speaking of black athletes: now that some white guys have been caught taking HGH recently, let's see if Tinny sprays his underwear in the same way he crapped 'em over Barry Bonds. (Not holding my breath here.)
That's the biggest octopus I've ever seen.
I can add this to things I actually liked. I'll admit, I found the singing one with Chantel also kind of cute. This one is obviously more cutting, but the recalls from China have been so immense that it's just a tiny cut as opposed to an overblown scenario.
