September 11

As most of you know, I just let it go on days like today.

Never forget? Psh! Batshit may forget Veterans' Day, but he'll never forget to milk 9-11 with both hands!

...Even if he uses the date as an excuse to crap out a strip involving an absolute minimum of effort because he thinks everyone will be afraid to criticize it.

I guess we should be grateful that this time around he's refrained from screaming for open harassment against people whose skin color makes them "look like terrorists."

The thing is. Either you will forget, or you won't. Probably "won't." I mean at the time I was flying a lot, and I had fairly close friends near Ground Zero in NYC, etc.

But being PROUD of never forgetting is something I've never respected, frankly. Being proud of making an effort to never forget, ditto. And I mean, about anything.

It's absolutely nothing to be proud of and especially coming from a pandering, publicly praying fake Christian like Tinsley it's not.

Conversely, some "never forgets" for the world at large:

September 11, 1973, Chile.

March 20, 2003, Baghdad.

November 8, 2004, Fallujah.

February 10, 2008, Gaza.

July 15, 2006, Lebanon.

If everyone all over the world attacked by the US, the UK, Israel, etc. adopts "Never forget." as Bruce Tinsley urges, there'll be plenty more 9/11s to remember.

At least he didn't exploit 9/11 to promote racial profiling this time.

This was almost good. Putting the text in a box like that ruins it. It breaks up the sky line and draws your attention away from the towers.

How can we forget, when you won't stop talking about it?

It's the ninth anniversary of G.W. Bush's big break: a moment of incompetence that he turned into some kind of stick to beat Democrats with. Without this date, Guiliani's speeches would just be a noun and a verb. And after this date, we gave Al Qaeda most of what they wanted. How could I forget?

Better than "never forget" is "do something with the life you have left" like Beyond The 11th --- two American wives of men murdered on 9/11, who reach out to the their fellow widows in Afghanistan, and make a difference.

And, unlike the propagandists, they don't make a dime off it.

You can hate or you can heal, but you can't do both.

August 6, 2001: President George W. Bush is presented with his Presidential Daily Briefing, this one entitled "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US". Bush responds with "All right. You've covered your ass, now."

We'll never forget that, either.

Remembering does not equal cowering in fear like scared little children as the Republicans would have us.

The thing that annoys me with 9/11: we changed the wrong things.

We went crazy on security and invasions but continued to live in the same denial.

Why did we think we were so awesome that no one would dare try to beat us down? And why did we solve it by measures that only require time and a little cleverness to circumvent that inconvenience everyone including an entire innocent demographic?

I guess I can't fault the cartoonist for the subject matter of this one, but that doesn't excuse the total lack of effort on display here.

Any nine-year-old child could have conceived and executed this strip.

Thanks so much for reminding us (or reinforcing our memories) of that infamous PDB.

In a truly just and honest world, that one incident alone would have led to Chimpy's impeachment and conviction, and then a trial for treason. I mean, if that doesn't qualify as providing "aid and comfort" to the enemies of this country, I don't know what does.

And yet, to this day, the wingnuts will give us the excuse of "nobody knew" for the complete and total lack of preparation for this imminent event.

Actually, in addition to having 2 of my close friends right near Ground Zero, my dad and stepmother lived right near the Pentagon, and my dad claimed he heard the impact. FWIW. And I'm an Alaskan. But, frankly, the sort of people who would go to Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin's Cash-In rally in Anchorage probably have, on average, very few ties to either Manhattan or DC.

In any event, what's wrong with my former governor? Why couldn't she get on a plane and fly to somewhere connected to 9/11 for a rally? Why did Glenn Beck have to come to her?

I assure you in 2001 no part of Alaska was hit with Al Qaeda planes.
