Actually, the comics page is for well-drawn strips that generally involve something resembling humor, or at least a modicum of effort, rather than hastily scribbled talking-point transcriptions rendered between fifths of bathtub gin.

Maybe this is why Dullard is on the Opinion page of our local paper here. (I always thought it was because the Comics section was for, you know, actual comics).
So Mallard is admitting (albeit tacitly) that his social commentary is slanted? That's pretty big of him. Or it would be, if he were self-aware and clear-headed enough to realize he was doing it.
As Frank Stone points out, Mallard comes very close to being self aware. He acknowledges that his screed is slanted! Maybe he's finally going to AA and this is one of the 12 steps?
No, part of the twelve-step program is making amends with those you've harmed. I have yet to see a Mallard Fillmore cartoon in which he apologizes for years of shitty cartoons.
The evening news that relentlessly promoted "Tea Party" rallies, and ignored much larger rallies of liberals, is slanted?
Well, yeah.
I will bet cash money that the Oct 2 One Nation Working Together Rally will (using objective counts) double Beck's numbers, and it will be largely ignored.
Because the corporate-owned media is indeed slanted ... in the direction its owners require.

Mallard, it's perfectly reasonable to have rational political commentary and humorous jokes in a comic strip. The problem is you have neither.
