Those damned Men

What's Mallard raving about today?

Teabaggers.

Unlike the world Mallard inhabits, in the real world, the more you actually look at the Tea Party, the more frightening they get.

You might have thought that was not actually possible. But then folks like O'Donnell, Angle, and Paladino get selected by the Tea Party and they are more disturbingly extremist it gets.

Tinsley, you fucking idiot. The entire point of the story of the blind men and the elephant is that they each feel one ASPECT of the elephant, not that their speculations are inaccurate. Here is a version of the story featuring this passage:

They began to argue about the elephant and everyone of them insisted that he was right. It looked like they were getting agitated. A wise man was passing by and he saw this. He stopped and asked them, "What is the matter?" They said, "We cannot agree to what the elephant is like." Each one of them told what he thought the elephant was like. The wise man calmly explained to them, "All of you are right. The reason every one of you is telling it differently because each one of you touched the different part of the elephant. So, actually the elephant has all those features what you all said."

So your point is exactly the opposite of the one you intended to make. Great job! A competent cartoonist might have been able to take this basic premise and make something insightful out of it. Instead, we have Tinsley, who gets drunk, trips over his shoelaces, and falls face-first into the mud.

'Course, this comic gains even more piquancy by the fact that the teabaggers JUST nominated the crazy fucking anti-masturbation teabagger and the crazy fucking racist pornographer teabagger. Nope, nothing deranged or extremist about THESE people.

All in all, I'd say this might be the most thorough bit of self-pwnage Tinsley's ever executed.

Rather than compete with GeoX on the sheer stupidity of Batshit's can't-spell-analogy-without-"A-N-A-L," I'll just do my nightly facepalm and then go laugh at the teabaggers' reactions to Bill Maher dredging up the latest Teabagger Truimphant's past dabblings in witchcraft.

See, constant, baseless speculation (and outright lies) about the "real beliefs" of Dat Black Man In My White, White House are okay; reminding the public that ultra-neo-con McDonnell went on a popular show of her own free will to spout off loudly about how she "had a date" on a "satanic altar" with blood on it is "the Liberal Media Conspiracy in action once again destroying a champion of American and family values."

Wooooo...(.)

Oh! And lookit that! Yet another Teabagger Truimphant has decided to hide from the media--even "friendly" media like FOX Propaganda!

The Tea Party Express isn't so much a train wreck in the making as it is the climax of The Cassandra Crossing.

Those stupid blind people! They've stumbled upon one of the quiet, background baggers who merely enable the more visible assholes of the movement. Well, at least they didn't really make fools of themselves by accidentally picking the black guy. ("Tea partiers are people who sell T-shirts! That must be where the name comes from.")

Ah yes, the "tea partiers are just sweet little old ladies who just pay so gosh golly much in taxes." maneuver.

Yawn.

On the plus side, the blind men can't read Mallard Fillmore, so they've got that going for them.

Meanwhile, Tinshley should learn more about what it's really like being blind before he accidentally gets his hands on a bottle of antifreeze.

Once again, Brucie shows us what happens when an illiterate tries to get literary.

Missing in this "comic": The hapless Teabagger's witch's hat and broom.

O'Donnell/Palin and Witchcraft

Nice work by the colorist here -- the contrast between the teabagger and the blind men is an effective visual cue.

Poor work by the artist and inker, who has apparently given the blind man at far left a gangrenous and necrotic nose.
