That damned Bond Rating

What's Mallard raving about today?

Incumbents, the Debt Ceiling

Hey Mallard? Remember when you were talking about how terrible it was that the actions of Congress caused S&P to downgrade the US Debt rating? Just yesterday?

So, what do you imagine would have happened to our rating if the US had defaulted on our debt?

You can't have it both ways.

But, thanks for illustrating the largest part of the reason why S&P downgraded us, because a group of ignoramuses is dominating our political process.

Batshit's disconnect has finally advanced to the point that his "beliefs" (for lack of a better word) flip-flop from day to day.

Batshit has frequently been described as "not even trying;" as of today he's officially not even pretending.

Yup. He's pissed that Congress decided to not default on the loans.

God, the stupid actually hurts, sometimes.

Two Americas: Mallard America and Reality America. They've never been farther apart.

Oh Bruce, you worked so hard on this one! You had to draw a caricature of someone--is that Harry Reid? And you even made a joke this time, how novel for you! Of course, only people who agree with your narrow-minded veiwpoint could actually find it funny.

Once again, Bruce Timely wags his finger at us and scolds, "I told you so!" To which the rest of us can only reply, "No, you didn't, dumbass."

And I couldn't tell if that was supposed to be Warren Buffett or Harry Reid scowling at us, since neither made much sense in context, but now I'm pretty sure it's just a representation of the perpetually cranky and bitter old man who lives in Brucie's head.

"..the perpetually cranky and bitter old man who lives in Brucie's head."
I saw "cranky old man" as being a Brucie self-portrait. Because, in context, it seems to be representing "U.S. Voters" or at least Brucie's conception of them: old, white and angry.

Funny thing; most Americans want to solve the deficit issue by raising taxes on the rich, and are pretty angry Congress won't do it. When does "Mallard Fillmore" speak that inconvenient truth?

Well, to go with the previous day, Republicans like to tell you how big government doesn't work, so that people elect them to big government positions and they make sure government doesn't work, so they get elected again. They mean what they say.

Bruce, you dummy, this is an "A new poll suggests" premise, not an "In other news" one!
