That damned Downgrade

What's Mallard raving about today?

S&P

Hey Mallard, I know that's the Right Wing Talking point, but if you'd actually read their reasoning you'd have noticed the part in there where they say the fact that Republicans were willing to consider default was a major part of the reason for the downgrade.

Also, let's not forget this is the same agency that was giving CDOs AAA ratings right up to the very end.

So, you know, fuck off.

You didn't expect Mallard to read all the way to page 4 of the statement, did you? More to the point, he doesn't expect his readers to check on anything he says, asterisk or no.

This might be the most dishonest "comic" I've ever seen Tinsley shit out. Considering that he's bitching about Obama not meaning what he says, the hypocrisy is mind-boggling. In other words, it's Friday.

the hypocrisy is mind-boggling. In other words, it's a day ending in Y.

Fixed that for you.

I'm really confused - this is about how Congress is full of a bunch of people who don't keep their word, right?

This is really fucking hard to read.

1 - "I can't believe..."
2 - "But how can people do that?"
1 - "Well, they said they would..."
2 - "Cut our credit rating?"
? - "Mean what they say!"

WHAT ORDER ARE THESE SUPPOSED TO BE IN? Who is saying this?

Reading a comic should not be this much work.

No teacher would give this an F, they'd just write "start over".

Just to be sure, I did a few minutes of research (the internet kind, not the Jack Daniels kind) and couldn't find anything about S&P threatening to downgrade our credit rating unless we "cut spending" specifically.

And by the way, Brucie -- since you're so smart, why didn't you do a strip like this when the threat of a credit downgrade was first made?

Oh, that's right -- Because you were too obsessed with Obama's Teleprompter. And because you're a mindless right-wing talking point regurgitator, and always have been.

This some avant garde art! He cut his word balloons up, threw them in the air, and left them wherever they fell on the panel! It's all William S. Burroughs-ey 'n' shit!

Bravely crusading against ampersands.

Actually, I think everyone is reading this wrong. Tins is mad that we DIDN'T default on the loans.

It's becoming more apt to compare electing a Republican, to hiring Hitler to plan your bar mitzvah.

Didn't extending the Bush Tax cuts work?

Well said, DiR. I'm satisfied that the foaming mouthed right fucking hates America.

Oh, they may love it in some abstract sense, but as it actually exists, full as it is of gays and Mexicans and Muslims and women who want nothing to do with them and poor people and people who think their job should pay enough to make a living and people who don't want shit in their air and water and food and black people, some of whom get elected president: They hate the shit out of that, and they want it dead.
