That damned Scandal

What's Mallard raving about today?

Eric Holder, President Obama

The approaching New Year gives Mallard a chance to reflect on scandals that no one but he and Fox cared about. Way to be relevant, there, Mallard.

It's a scandal 'cuz OBAMA, that's why. If it happened under Bush, well, stuff just happens, okay? Jeesh.

See, people failing to care about whatever ginned-up scandal he's pushing is just one example of the persecution Brews was talking about enduring a couple of days ago.

Of course, anything that's ginned-up will be dear to Tinsh's pickled little heart.

That's right, Bruce. The darkies are going to come take your stuff. Better drink it all quick, just to keep it safe. Yes, the antifreeze too.

The unintended irony here is that Holder didn't go after the greatest living American mass murders - George W Bush, Dick Cheney, Condy Rice and Don Rumsfeld.
This makes it more likely that the next time a failing executive like Cheney needs a war to restore his company's fortunes, everyone knows he just needs to put a drunken frat boy in the Oval Office and ... Mission Accomplished!

(Of course, this goes back to Jerry Ford and his saving America from the nightmare of putting a president on trial. Immunizing presidents from the justice system lead directly to the Iraq debacle, but Jerry's beyond justice now.)

That's a reasonably well-executed depiction of Eric Holder, and if you ask me "Fast and Furious" does seem to have been a badly botched debacle, and an embarrassment to the Obama administration.

And yet I still hate this comic.

Maybe it's because those keys defy gravity. Not only to they not hang downward from the keychain, but they're not hanging from anything at all. They're just floating in front of his hand.

Or maybe it's because labeling it "prediction #16" is such a perfect illustration of how creatively bankrupt the strip is. Riffing on the same threadbare joke for three weeks in a row isn't clever, it's lazy.

Did I say three weeks? I meant "since 1994".
