Merry Christmas

As usual, I will give Mallard latitude for this, though timing for that one headline is deeply unfortunate.

"When did we see you hungry, sick or in prison and did not help you?"
The King shall reply," Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of people, ye did it not to me."
And they went away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal"

---MATTHEW 25:44-46

The message of Christmas is that we can support socialized medicine or we can go to hell.

I'm ok with that.

So the takeaway from today's strip is that Mallard, who spends roughly 363 days a year bitching about how awful everyone and everything is (and how that's all the fault of libtards, natch), is not intellectually or morally superior to the rest of humanity after all and needs to be provided with a sense of perspective just like everyone else. Good to know. Now if only he could remember that for more than one day...

I live in Connecticut.

The work radio turned to all talk format that day. One (idiot) DJ, in a single paragraph, said that the mass murder of children was because of "the economy" and "kids with their iPods and Facebook" and "his parents were divorced" and "We don't pray enough these days." Yeah, that's what it was--where was your fucking all-knowing/all-powerful God that day? Getting divorced on Facebook?

My work's sole right-wing gun nut showed yesterday's headline in the Hartford Courant "NRA Response Falls Flat" to some other right-wing gun nuts. One said "I saw that NRA press conference and thought, what a fucking joke! Put cops in every school?! What are you, sick?"

How about banning assault weapons? Why is that off the table? And I can bet that Brucie's response to the atrocity will be either A)ignore it, B) mumble something that doesn't mention guns, but may loudly declaim video games, C) decry people "politicizing" it (while himself politicizing it), or D) oh let's face it, what was Fox News' spewing point the next day? That's what he'll go with. He can't think for himself, as that may threaten his welfare check.

Jesus died 2,000 years ago, Bruce. And yet you say that makes up for everything bad since then. Hey, duck shit for brains, fuck you. Fuck you and all your kind with a Bushmaster.
