That damned Recycling

What's Mallard raving about today?

Re-Gifting

For those of us with more than one friend, unlike Mallard, this is not an issue.

Also, for those of us with a shred of humanity and decency, not an issue.

Proof that Fumduck doesn't live on the same planet as the rest of us.

How many times has this already been said?

Too bad that it is unlikely that he will be fired for plagiarism (as it would have happened already).

Today's "comic", while showing Mallard Fillmore' customary bad drawing and theme of angry sadness, stands out best for the incompetent doggerel.

Structurally, the text attempt iambic trimeter: three stressed syllables per line, each separated by two unstressed syllables, plus or minus a few at each lines' start, hence:

ReCYCLing is GOOD for the PLANet
You KNOW it's the RIGHT thing to DO,
Just MAKE sure the PERson who GETS it
Ain't the SAME one who GAVE it to YOU.

However, in the phrase "make sure" the natural stress falls on "sure", because the defining concept is "sure" not "make". In addition, the lines start with different numbers of syllables - not a fatal error, but indicative of sloppy writing.

It's easy to fix, viz:

...Make SURE that the PERson who GETS it
Is NOT he who GAVE it to YOU.

- or -

...But ALways reGIFT to a PERson
Who DID not just GIVE it to YOU."

I have now spent 9 minutes of my life re-writing Mallard Fillmore, which on the evidence is more than Brews Tinkley ever did.

Lampooning: Don't you mean "planet"?

Well, if there's one thing Bruce knows about, it's recycling. The thousands of times he's recycled the same scribbles and "jokes" is proof enough of that.
