What's Mallard raving about today?
The new Congress, Middle-Class taxes, the Rich, the Poor.
Apparently a coalition consisting only of the ultra-rich and the ultra-poor got together and formed a voting bloc so large they managed to elect Democrats to Congress.

Wow, I don't think Mallard could be any more ignorant of actual voting patterns.
I love the notion that the ultra-rich tend to vote Democratic. I can almost smell the cheap bourbon fumes hanging over Tinshley's drawing table.
Of course, if this strip were true (instead of crazed dipsomaniacal mewling), then it logically follows that the Democrats' victory in November is conclusive proof that Republican leadership has completely devastated the middle class. Which I don't think is the point Tinshley's trying to make at all.
POOR PEOPLE DON'T PAY TAXES BLAHULAGHALGHALGHAL
Shut the fuck up.
Yeah. Those lucky poor people, they've got it so good.
This is the worst poem Tinsley's written yet, ever
