That damned McCain

What's Mallard raving about today?

John McCain, Democrats.

I would say that this is going to be long election season for Mallard, given his hatred for all 3 candidates. Given the fact that Mallard seems to metabolize his own hatred and bile the way the rest of us metabolize sugar, perhaps he will just grow stronger.

McCain's chief strategist is his psychiatrist?

It would be wrong for a true conservative to get along with Democrats, we should all know this.

The proper way for a hardcore conservative to handle a democrat is to draw penis-chins and flood them with bad poetry and excessive ellipses.

This country was built on strife and ignorance dammit! The only way to keep it strong! Damn hippies. Ooo, what's on TV?

Stronger? Perhaps not. Just look at the "quality" of the "art" in this strip. No, I think it must be tearing Tinny to pieces, not having a candidate who shares his open contempt for the rest of humanity.

Building consensus or "my way or the highway"--which one works better? I guess we know Tinny's answer.

And let's not confuse Tinsley with a genuine conservative.

I mean, Jimmy Carter was a conservative, evangelical Christian...back when those last three words actually meant what the dictionary said they meant. It sounds insane to describe him like that today.

Over the years, politics have stopped being about "liberal vs conservative" and become "Progressive" vs "Neo-Conservative" versus everyone else...and God help anyone who stands in the middle of that road.

"McCain's chief strategist is his psychiatrist?"

Sure, why not. Tinny's is. Though in his case, you can replace "psychiatrist" with "bourbon" and "sock puppet".

About 15 years ago I had this great quote which I haven't been able to find. But it essentially said that any fool can find the bad in something, takes intelligence to find the good.

Another way of thinking about it: often people who want to be seen as the experts on everything will insult anything you put before them. Some do confuse that with "oh, he has an opinion, he must know..."

Beware of those who never have anything nice to say, since it's a sure sign they haven't a clue as to what they're talking about.

I can see the usefulness of that quote, but it's pretty limited. Lots of people have nothing but nice things to say about Bush.

McCain's never criticized a Democrat?

That's a punch line, but not in the way Tinsley intends.
