Those damned Advisors

What's Mallard raving about today?

Foreign Policy, Hugo Chavez, Daniel Ortego, Fidel Castro.

Only in Mallard's fevered, Fox-fueled, imagination.

I'm sorry, who was it who idolized Francisco Franco, an actual, literal fascist dictator? Oh, that's right--it was Tinsley's hero, William B. Fuckley! And I would be willing to bet large amounts of money that among the right-wing pundits Tinsley has cited, it would not be difficult to find one (for they are legion) who wrote encomia to military dictator Augusto Pinochet upon his far-too-delayed death.

Oh, but those guys weren't commies. So they were murdering people for Jesus. Or something. The moral relativism on the right is truly something to behold.

...and note that right-wingers actually, unambiguously support these creeps, as opposed to Obama, who only supports Castro et al in Tinsley's crazed fever dreams.

Memories...of when Saddam was our friend
A handshake after the ma-ass-acre
That's just the waaay things were...

Come to think of it, weren't we just discussing Tin's abject worship of the mentally-incompetent figurehead of the Iran-Contra affair? GeoX pegs it about the neoconservative's moral relativism.

So is the problem here that we aren't abjectly bombing other nations? The thing is this, if we had opened trade relations with Cuba, arguably we might have been able to force Castro out, or at least do damage to him. Note that once China allowed open trade we started seeing some reform as well as them becoming trade partners as opposed to military foes. In addition, the Soviet Union fell primarily due to the fact that Glasnost and Perestroika meant that the Soviet people could see superior western goods in greater amounts and could protest the government about it. Isolation keeps dictators in power, especially true of those using the Communist system.

Okay...that's just stupid...

Another three-panel comic strip consisting of two drawings of Obama thinking to himself, in a single panel.

Bruce Tinsley is like the frat guy who takes every class Pass/Fail instead of for a letter grade, putting in the minimum acceptable amount of effort to get by, in order to have more time for binge drinking.

You must admit, it was pretty clever the way Daniel Ortega got Obama to trick Bush into invading Iraq ... the greatest foreign policy blunder in our nation's history.

If only Tinkley had alerted us back in 2003!

I'm not exactly sure where this advising thing is going. Since Chavez has been less than flattering, Castro 1 is working on being dead, Castro 2 is working on his country and Ortega ranted at Obama.

But I guess by listening he is taking advice? That fits in with the whole neocon belief that to listen is to agree. Because if we'd just LISTEN to their arguments we'd agree and be neocons too.

Obama should really be making use of Tinshley's personal advisors, the firm of Daniels, Jameson, and Beam.

WHAT?! You mean Obama is a SOCIALIST and a COMMUNIST and he's being CHUMMY with America's ENEMIES?? My GOD!! Why didn't anybody ever tell us this BEFORE???

This is another one in which the colorist refused to color Obama's bottom lip.

@exanonymous: This confusion arises from two things:

First, Obama has publicly regretted and vowed to not continue America's swaggering-bully foreign-interference policy, which equates to surrender and servitude in the neocon "mind" (renowned stumphead Victor Davis Hanson recently wrote that it was a pity we weren't "there" to "help" Iranian protesters attain democracy, because they'll never be able do it without our military occupation);

Second, Tin's used to GOP-style politics, where a President is often a mindless figurehead for his veep and cabinet, who really call the shots (see Reagan, Ronald; Junior, George). Tin thinks the advisors are always the ones in charge.

This is beyond mockery.
It's just sad.
Wow.
Poor son of a bitch.

Days like this, I start to wonder if Tinsley really isn't some kind of liberal double agent, spouting off the most insane Republican retoric that comes to his mind in an effort to turn people against the GOP.

Then I realize that for that to make sense, I'd have to drink as much as Brucie, and frankly, I don't think that my liver can take it.

Another Michael? I need a more creative handle.
