That damned Hallowe'en

What's Mallard raving about today?

Hallowe'en, Washington.

For Mallard, Hallowe'en apparently means Crime, Spending, Corruption, and "etc."

Oh, and by the way, Mallard. It's "Woo" not "Boo."

Indeed, there is nothing so terrifying as "Etc." Brrr.

If I were to pick a truly scary subject, it would be "Hate-Fueled Violence," or "Torture," or "Bigotry"...but Tinsley would be completely incapable of relating to them. After all, those things don't happen in America anymore, and even if they did, they're passé. (And why? Because Tinsley says they are.)

I'd be afraid of living in Washington too if it was a featureless void.

This is just a lazy comic. Like Factinista says, a featureless void, the same picture 4 times, and a joke that could be applied to any session of congress since 1776.

WV: Scotandu. Like Xanadu, but with Sean Connery.

Mallard's newspaper sure has some weird sections. I'm sure he'd rather it report on things he likes, though, like bourbon and little boys. Maybe Anonyrast can make some suggestions for him!

My favorite character, Sheaf of Paper, finally gets some lines, and this is all the writer could come up with for him?!

Isn't it liberals who are supposed to want to live in the land of unicorns and puppies and rainbows and love instead of corruptions and etc?

What scares Mallard is anything that might take money out of his pockets. Strangers being killed somewhere... eh; he's okay with that.

I'm glad the editor had the decency to change "black people" to "etc."

Washington, D.C. is, only, 36% White, thus, Tinsley is saying that anyone who is not White is evil.

Regarding the horrifying Prickly City comic that was posted yesterday: Real liberals do not support Mao, Stalin, Castro or Guevarra. Anyone who does not recognize any of those names as a genocidal dictator is so ignorant, he must be a Republican. I do not know whether it refers to Hugo or Cesar Chavez, but, either way, Godwin's Law. Mao killed more men than Hitler, thus, associating anyone with him is a violation of Godwin's Law. Cesar Chavez was a great man, who risked his ass to save migrant workers from executives and other evil Republicans (sorry for being so redundant.) Hugo Chavez supports laws that keep food prices low, limit the power of those executives and improve social conditions. Republicans are the, only, ones who would oppose such laws.

Word Verification: Aftero, the clumps of hair that fall onto Tinsley after he repeatedly clubs a Black man on the head.

Spending? Tinslard is afraid of "spending." So how does he acquire those 2L plastic jugs of Old Crow that sustain him through the 15 minutes a day he spends "working" on this comic strip? Stealing?

And as a resident of DC, I can readily attest to the fact that the "crime" here just isn't that scary. Even in the parts of Southeast DC where I and many, many black people live.

What a fucking gash.

Crime, Spending, Corruption ... if "Halliburton" hadn't been misspelled as "etc" this would have been perfect for the entire Bush Administration.

While Tinsley purports to not be on the payroll of the neoconservative media machine, he also claims to be married to a working liberal with a substantial income; like his brethren, this allows him to "live within his means" (read: sponging off someone else), while moaning endlessly about how overworked he is (90+hrs research every week--no, day! No, hour!!!), and crying that money spent on propping up our crumbling infrastructure or educating our children would be better spent dropping bombs on people or building prisons (if there's anything left after the tax cut for the upper one percent, that is).

Should anyone wonder with losers who think like this and are allowed to vote, why Obama was elected president?

Yet another 'horrifying cartoon': This one will probably send 'ole chuck' over the edge.

This person does a very good cartoon strip!

Why doesn't Obama want to win the war? He will upset his leftist base! His primary goal is to strengthen the entitlement mentality/society and his 'free' health care bill will certainly do that.

@Anonymous
You are ruining the name of anonymous. That strip makes a serious run at Mallard Filmore for lameness. Panel 1: Dumb Republican talking point. Seriously, do you think "dither" is going to catch on? It's weak and lame. Just call him nigger, we know you want to. Panel 2: Complete non-sequitur. Mother of All Bills? MOAB? What is this nonsense? Panel 3: Republican treason. If you think Obama considers the American people the enemy, then that is because you consider yourself the enemy of Obama and anybody that supports him. You are aware that Republican nutters are a tiny minority? Birthers and teabaggers are the only fools who would consider Obama the enemy. Reasonable people will disagree with him, but they wouldn't go to the depths of stupidity your kind go to.

For 'Rememberwhenanonymouswascool?' It seems to me that you and your group are quite good at playing the race card.

I have no right to disagree with Obama because he is a black man? Is that correct? And 'Dither' = the word nigger?

WTF is your problem? I mean besides being a liberal loser which you have left no doubt by your pathetic comments.

Tell me, anonymous, do you EVER have actual thoughts, or do your *only* interactions with the world really come in the form of an incoherent barrage of referent-free buzzwords and talking points? And are you actually under the impression that there's any meaningful sense in which this could be termed "communication?" You assholes always rail about ambiguity, but--and I hate to tell you this--you're also postmodern as fuck, and I mean that in the most malignant sense of the word.

The 'Geox' again. He just cannot keep his liberal hole shut. Does he ever socialize or does he always sit at his computer waiting for someone to argue with? Is the D&C blog his life?

Must have been some serious trauma during his childhood. I did notice a few days ago when he had his ass ripped by another person on this blog and 'the Geox' must have apologized three times.

Did he find out that the person he had chastised lived near him and may stop over and kick his ass? That was amusing

GeoX, one of the GeoX boys. said...

Yup--basically incoherent talking points. Actually, you really didn't have to answer that; it was basically a rhetorical question. But sometimes it's funny to see wingnuts lunge so desperately to prove the point.

GeoX, one of the GeoX boys. said...

Also, let's take a moment to savor the predictable seething-up of anonyloser's sexual insecurity. Wingnut can haz self-awareness? No.

Funny how these trolls never seem to defend Mallard, or even talk about it for that matter. This just seems to prove that Mallard is so bad that even conservatives can't find anything good about it.

Day by Day reminds me of one particular Homer Simpson quote: "Liberals (growling)... Woohoo! (at boobs)... liberals... woohoo!"

Seriously. It's a mashup of talking points, followed by random strained references to cleavage or sex or gratuitous butt shots.

It must suck to be irrationally angry and HORNY at the same time with no real outlet.

The giant stack of paper that is the healthcare bill is already the most annoying visual meme to emerge in the media. This is how the sausage gets made folks. It ain't pretty but transparent appeals to "simpler times" or governing by common sense or old fashion ideals is just so much claptrap. Do you think that much lauded programs like Medicare could not be as easily represented by MOABs.

Also, I can't look at that day by day thing and not be struck by how lame it is in comparison to the currently rerunning Doonesbury storyline about Toggle and what real live troops might actually talking about in their humvees which may or may not be accurate, but at least you don't try to have them spouting talking points mined from the talk radio echo chamber.

@Illiterate Anonymous
I said reasonable people can disagree with Obama. If you're an idiot that thinks birthers have any merit and that teabaggers are a real grass roots movement, you're an unreasonable idiot whose disagreement is meaningless. You're just stupid attack dogs barking at whatever Beck and Limbaugh and Hannity throw you at. If you have a real disagreement with Obama that you can post without it being RW talking points and links to comics only marginally less stupid than Mallard Filmore, I would be absolutely stunned.

Every time we pay attention to a troll, his dick temporarily swells to two inches. Do you really want to be responsible for adding 25% to the size of his boner?

If he ever says anything worth refuting, feel free, but there's no point in feeding his malformed ego every time he displays himself.

(I know. I just did it too. SEE WHAT YOU MADE ME DO?)
