That damned Year

What's Mallard raving about today?

2008, 2009, The Media.

Anyone who honestly believes that 2008 and 2009 were similar in any appreciable fashion automatically disqualifies themselves from being listened to.

"Media" in this case is a singular noun so that "were" should be a "was".

What a coincidence! I was actually going to comment on the incredible free ride Obama gets compared to the constant grilling Bush received, but I was distracted by all the little red invisible spiders and those melting watches.

Hey, wow! My hands are so far out! And supply-side economics work!

The media has been o.k. with 2009?

On what planet?

P.S. If the media jumped off the roof, does that mean you should jump off the roof too?

P.P.S. Remember when we were losing half-a-million jobs a month? IMO Obama's banking policies are waaaaaaaaay too corporate, but no rational person can deny that we're doing better than at the same time last year.

"No rational person" heh!

Wow. After mildly speculating about it yesterday, Tinsley goes and provides me with a better example of a comic that only makes sense if you exist inside his head.

Is 2009 supposed to be the same as 2008 in terms of politics, economics, weather, entertainment, or what? There is no way to know, but the author expects people to know anyway. He is not mentally healthy.

Maybe he just means that he is using the same "jokes" that he did last year.

If the new year asks the old year how things went how can the old year answer in comparison to previous years? The old year wasn't around in previous years, so he can't compare and the new year is new and just a baby, so he has no frame of reference and can't understand any of it anyway.

Oh yeah, that's just Tinsley talking and he's still mad that CLIMATEGATE didn't generate prime time news specials on all networks proclaiming "Climate Change is a Hoax, Look, It's Snowing Outside, Duh!"

He's still mad that Sarah Palin hasn't been offered a gig writing columns for every major newspaper in the country.

He's still mad at himself that he's part of the media and he bitched about stuff for the last two years and yet didn't include himself in his own fractured analysis.

"Hey, the media ignores me and talks about Michael Jackson and Tiger Woods. This is racism, not that I think there is any. I'm in 400 newspapers. What's that honey? BruceTinsleyStoresHisPeeInaJar.com? I haven't been able to hit a jar in years!"

2008: Tinsley: Not funny.
2009: Tinsley: Still not funny.

And the media continued to publish him anyway.

So, it sounds about right to me.
