That damned Search

What's Mallard raving about today?

Timothy McVeigh, Terrorism.

Eric Rudolph, Scott Roeder, Michael Griffin, Paul Jennings Hill, James Kopp.

Apparently Mallard has a different definition of "months" than I do.

"Token." Really.

Note to families of the victims of Timothy McVeigh; the deaths of your loved ones don't mean a thing to Bruce Tinsley, because they cannot be used to further his own personal jihad against people with skin colors he doesn't care to accept. ...But racism's dead!

Yeah, my first thought when I read that was, "That's funny (but certainly not ha-ha funny), I thought 'Duck and Cover' did exactly that, just yesterday."

Okay, let's all just ignore the second-deadliest terror attack on U.S. soil.

Hey, great news for you Mallard, guess what is #2 when we ignore whats-his-name? The Nat Turner rebellion! That's right, escaped slaves! Booga booga!

Anyway, what point have you been leading up to, Mallard? If you don't want the government searching white people and don't want anyone to consider non-jihadist terror threats, what do you want done? I dare you to say it out loud.

Great art in this one.

Got to say: that is some brass balls on Mallard.

Davey K. just listed five non-Muslim terrorists in addition to McVeigh. Can Mallard list six or more Muslim terrorists by name?

Kip W said...

Well, sure, it took the readers six seconds to name those non-Muslim terrorists, but with the strip's lead time over reality, it was still 'months' after his decoy made the challenge. Advantage: Tin Eye!

Disgusting.

Hey Tin Man (you know, the one without a heart): how about everybody who's ever shot up an abortion clinic, or murdered one of their doctors? Oh, right, that's not terrorism; that's "fighting for the right to life."

You hear that, extremist militia-types? Bruce Tinsley, of Bartholomew County, Indiana, thinks you're a bunch of irrelevant pussies. It's almost as if he's daring you to show him otherwise!

Again, that's Bruce Tinsley, of Bartholomew County, Indiana.

Actually, I have no problem whatsoever with profiling to identify/stop terrorists. The problem is racists and the perpetually scared think "that guy looks A-rab! Grab 'im and do anything you want (the crueler the better) in the name of keeping me safe!" is profiling. It isn't. Profiling is much more involved than what someone looks like his religion might be. As a subset of psychology, it is a science of observation rather than hard facts. Even when excercized by a professional, the observations shouldn't be taken as absolute.

What we see so often is people relabelling 'racism' as 'profiling'. We should call BS every time we see this so the public doesn't continue to accept the substitution as fact.

btw, I think I spelled 'crueler' right. The first time I spelled it, it came out 'spiral-shaped doughnut'. Gotta get spell-check on here....

Um, doesn't he mean "FLESH out"? I'm sure most of Sara's positions should be flushed, but don't expect this water-carrier to agree with me.

Today's comic, in summary: "It's NO FAIR talking about Christian terrorists. Stop it you meanies!"

I laughed at it, but not with it.

If by "terrorist" we include those who order or sanction violent actions causing the deaths of numerous innocent civilians, shouldn't the list include George Bush, Dick Cheney, Barack Obama, Colin Powell, Hillary Clinton, and the rest of those firing drones into wedding parties, schools, etc etc etc? They're all terrorists in my book!

Woooo ... I think Brucie just set a new record for the amount of factual and intellectual dishonesty that can be crammed into one strip. Impressive! Not to mention that he kept Mallard's feathers the same color in all 3 panels.

See what you can accomplish when you lay off the sauce for a couple of hours, Brucie?

Mallard honestly believes that.
How sad.

He's obviously never looked at the FBI domestic terrorist list. Left destroys property, right kills. McVeigh wasn't the first, last, or only man to make the list.

Heck, it wasn't that long ago when some white supremacist group tried to slaughter 88 people and then drive into Obama's motorcade hopefully killing him. It was stopped before it happened, but they fully intended to kill. Then there was that wonderful church slaughtering, where the liberals had to die because the guy felt that he needed to make a political statement. Oh, and the Holocaust museum guy also killed for political reasons. That's all post-9/11 news!

YOU MAY BE A TALIBAN IF...

1. You refine heroin for a living, but you have a moral objection to liquor.

2. You own a $3,000 machine gun, but you can't afford shoes.

3. You have more wives than teeth.

4. You wipe your butt with your bare hand, but consider bacon "unclean."

5. You think vests come in two styles: bullet-proof and suicide.

6. You can't think of anyone you haven't declared Jihad against.

7. You consider television dangerous, but carry explosives in your clothing.

8. You were amazed to discover that cell phones have uses other than setting
off roadside bombs.

9. You have nothing against women and think every man should own at least
four.

10. Your cousin is president of the United States

You may be a racist asshat if...

3. You think the preceding list was high wit.

2. You show incredible concern for the rights of Muslim women, while insisting monMuslime women, of course, are perfectly fine, and perhaps have too many rights now, actually.

1. You get the DAMN NUMBERING OF A TOP TEN LIST BACKWARDS.

GeoX, one of the GeoX boys. said...

Too stupid to come up with its own asshattery, even--I didn't even have to do a google search to know that that was plagiarized. Come on, you dimwitted troglodyte--not even a Tinsley-esque "*the internet?"

The bin Ladens were business associates of Bush -- not cousins!

O Tinsley, once again, you have contradicted your, own, idiocy: You claimed that racism is dead, but that Muslims were racist towards everything!

You may be a Christian in these cases:

* You encourage ethnic cleansing through the worst forms of torture.
* You believe, despite endless incontrovertible piles of proof, that evolution and science are myths, and God is real.
* You believe that medicine and science are the tools of the devil, dragging us into Hell.
* You waste your life praying to an imaginary being and giving up all fun, because a book tells you.
* You think that the Spanish Conquistadores were too nice.
* You think any work that does not conform to your, precise, ideas is evil.
* You believe that condoms are the sole cause of A.I.D.S.{1}

{1} Something the Pope might have said, somewhere, in Africa. (This, sadly, is a better footnote than anything in Mallard Fillmore.)

Other non-Muslim terrorists: Joan of Arc, Toquemada, Cortez, Julius II, Spanish Conquistadores--need I continue?

Word Verification: Waters, things that Tinsley, only, drinks when his drums of Methanol are impure.

I see that unnamed correspondent subscribes to the Right's "Toilet Paper" strategy of giving a shit about women and gays Over There so they don't have to give a shit about them over here. Way to toe the party line, whoever you are! You are a politically correct Republican.

Isn't it interesting that when the right repeats something often enough, it must be true (or we wouldn't be hearing it so much, would we?)...but when the left repeats something, it gets "worn out" and must be disregarded (regardless of whether or not it's true)?
