That damned Pastime

What's Mallard raving about today?

Baseball, Football

Mallard's attitude toward sports and politics is the same. Despite all evidence to the contrary, he assumes everyone agrees with him.

Batshit's favorite pastime is passive-aggressive divisiveness.

I'd love to see him debate sports with fellow Buckley-bootlick, overly-defensive baseball fanatic, and hysterical prissy nitwit George F. Will. If either one of them ever played ANY sport, I'd wager they were picked last.

Look at the bright side, Bruce: it's guaranteed that those ads will be outnumbered by the ones for beer.

Let me explain the nature of Tinsley by quoting a song whose exact tune and themes were stolen by another hack who, like Tinsley steals everyone's ideas:

"Were you born an asshole?
Or did you work at it your whole life?
Either way it worked out fine
'cause you're an asshole tonight.

Yes you're an A S S H O L E...
And don't you try to blame it on me.
You deserve all the credit.
You're an asshole tonight.

You were an asshole yesterday.
You're an asshole tonight.
And I've got a feelin'
you'll be an asshole the rest of your life.

And I was talkin' to your mother
just the other night.
I told her I thought you were an asshole.
She said, "Yes. I think you're right."

And all your friends are assholes
'cause you've known them your whole life. [Note: Tinsley has no friends.]
And somebody told me
you've got an asshole for a wife.

Were you born an asshole?
Or did you work at it your whole life?
Either way it worked out fine
'cause you're an aaaass...hole tonight."

Word verification: Suphol, seriously, it is 195 proof and too mild for Tinsley.

Another transcript of that song, one written by someone far more literate than Tinsley: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3i6OrOZwtmA.

Word verification: Shire, and Tinsley is Sauron, the epitome of pure evil trying to destroy it.

"America's Pastime" is sitting in front of the TV alone?

That is really sad. The drinking pantlessness is just a symptom; the real problem is that Mallard can't have any friends because he's better than all of them ... in his mind.

Well, those are the hardships of the Randian Objectivist Hero Brews sees himself as.

However, didn't John Galt at least put on some damn trousers once in a while?

Damn, Bruce must be on the verge of suicide. Sitting alone, pantless, watching football. The only thing keeping him alive is hatred for the president. It would be sad if he wasn't such a vile human being.

Thought balloon in the first panel, speech balloon in the second panel.

Art error, or does Mallard routinely speak aloud only the second halves of sentences?

@Rootbeer:
Or is it just that the "artist" doesn't care about quality?
