Those damned Gaffes

What's Mallard raving about today?

The Media, Joe Biden

You lie, Mallard. Fox is too busy fainting over the alarming fact that the President used a binder clip to cover the Vice President.

The GOP: so concerned about the economy, that they're now complaining that Obama's trying to lower the deficit TOO QUICKLY, they want to gin up a "gate" by having Obama's uncle brought before Congress for questioning over a DUI (...oh, please jump on THAT, Batshit!) and Batshit's crying because Joe Biden's screwing up, like, constantly and no one's pointing it out!

...Kind of like how Batshit ignored the blatant insanity of the Cheney administration (while continuing to worship Sleepy Jellybean the Crazy-Spendin' Hollywood-Cowboy Clown What Got All Them Marines Killed in Lebanon). "Hypocrisy? Whut's THET?!?"

Anyway, I hope Batshit airs his lengthy lists of "gaffes" by the nigh-invisible Veep all week in defiance of this all-encompassing media Jewspiracy. It's not like he's accomplishing anything else...

Jobs? No! GAFFES!! FOCUS, PEOPLE!!

Yeah, because those "gaffes" (really, he wants to go there with Sarah Palin and Rick Perry in the public eye?) are WAYYYYY more important than all the other problems, like, I don't know, spicy mustard and arugala.

Gaffes! Teleprompter! 57! 57! 57!

There you go. The next week's worth of strips.

Talking Sentient TV? More like "Talking Sentient Off-Brand eBook Reader Whose Manufacturer Is Out Of Business Now But You Can Still Buy Them At Big Lots For $59.99," if the artwork is anything to go by.

For somebody who draws a television set in a good 57% of his comic strips, Bruce Tinsley is shockingly bad at it. I'd blame it on him usually drawing them from the back, but he's no good at that either.

Tinsley forgot to include a joke again. If Biden made a "gaffe", why doesn't he use the gaffe to make a satiric jab? Instead we get a commercial for Fox and Rush.
Hint to BT: read "Doonesbury" this week for a few pointers on satirizing gaffes by politicos.

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."
- What a genius!

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened."

-Dan Quayle only tried to be that dumb.

Anonymous Coward's examples come from two years ago, and have been extensively covered; thank you, Anonymous Coward, for showing your complete irrelevancy.

Meanwhile, the Republican Party cheers letting Americans die. That was just a couple of days ago.

YES, Courageous Anonymous who is Not Bruce in between glasses of research! TALKING SENTIENT TV KNOWS ALL AND WE MUST WORSHIP HIM AS WE WOULD RONNIE REAGAN

....who once said in a speech "For the first time in man's history....[loses his train of thought, for a reason that wasn't senility, I am so sure]....I'M PRESIDENT!" And it was TRUE HE HAD NEVER IN MAN HISTORY BEEN PRESIDENT BEFORE.

GOD BLESS TALKING SENTIENT TV!

WV: forpu; "If you worship not TS TV--FORP-U, buddy!"

Not only could Brucie not be bothered to come up with a more current right-wing talking point, but he couldn't be bothered to draw his talking TV-thingie with the same proportions twice in a row.

It makes one wonder how much pride is involved in getting money for producing nothing of any value to anyone. Like when farmers are paid not to grow crops.

And thank you, anon, for being exactly the sort of person Kip W was talking about. Future generations, if there are any, will be completely unable to believe the denial of reality that was endemic in the waning days of the cruel and magnificent American Empire.

WV: larperan, one of the large numbers of Americans who have (in the words of a great American playwright) "moved bag and baggage into [their] own fantasy world[s and] set up housekeeping there".

Neo Tuxedo said...

@Frank: It's of value to the Koch brothers, the Scaife family and the other millionaires who regard this country mainly as a source of potentially lootable resources. (As distinct from Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, possibly noted anti-communist George Soros, and others who are trying to give back to the country that's given them so much opportunity.)

Tragically, I happened to see this strip in today's paper. Still as dimwitted as ever, I see, eh, Bruce?

Gaffes are a topic for late-night TV comedians. Not an issue to waste time on by a serious (and true) news organization.

Oh, and you could fill a book with all of the gaffes by Bush Jr.

Oh, SENTIENT TALKING TV, I love you more than Blackwater torture! More than Exxon climate change lies! More than
HEY, wtf?!?! "ignore Vice. President Biden's gaffes" WHY IS THERE A "." IN "Vice. President" BRUCE?? THAT'S A TOTAL GAFFE & YOU HAVE RUINED TALKING SENTIENT TV FOR ME

OH GOD I MUST HIDE UNDER THE BLANKETS FOR A WEEK FEARING THAT IMMINENT NEXT 9/11/2001 ATTACK for the second decade in a row

SAVE ME ANONYMOUS BY TELLING ME HOW BLACK PRESIDENT WILL KILL ME BY NOT GIVING MORE TAX BREAKS TO KOCH SUCKERS

Bill the Splut said...

Let me just repeat that in coherent English:

"The vice. president makes gaffes! While I, Bruce Tinsley, spell 'vice. president' "vice. president."

Bill the Splut said...

Oh, admit it. We're all so used to Bruce writing at a third grade level that none of us noticed "vice. president".

CW in LA said...

What I like is how the teabaggistanis portray the vice. president as an unstoppable gaffe machine, and then keep citing the same two statements.

Michael Foley said...

The "mainstream media" sure did a 180 from the days when they helped Pres. Bush bully the country into doing whatever they wanted. They beat the drums straight into the disastrous Iraq War, and now they are ignoring Biden's verbal gaffes!

exanonymous said...

Can you blame the media?

Cheney set the bar awfully high with his gaffes. Things like, I don't know, shooting his friend?

CW in LA said...

Way to keep dredging up bygones, exanon. I mean, the guy apologized for having his face in Cheney's line of fire; why can't people move on?
