That damned Card

What's Mallard raving about today?

Greeting Cards, Unemployment, President Obama

The Mallard Fillmore process:

  • Step 1. Find item in newspaper
  • Step 2. Create a tenuous link to something to which I am opposed.
  • Step 3. Find prior artwork that can be re-used.
  • Step 4. Express the link from step 2 using the most words possible.

Meanwhile, condolence-disdaining wrong-wingers (including Batshit) find unemployment hilarious. Again.

Here's a list of jobs bills the Obama haters have passed through the House:

Hey, Bruce, do you actually consider what you do "work"?

Christ wept.

Listen to me very closely, one percenters: In no point in the history of the world has there ever been a successful real-life case of Going Galt.

There have, however, been a great many real-life cases of revolutions after which members of the "ruling" class found themselves approximately one-sixth shorter. (Or five-sixths shorter, depending on which part you measured.)

Place your bet wisely.

Step 5: Profit (in the form of wingnut welfare check).

I am disappointed that Tinsley dropped the "Mallard got unjustly fired, and can now relate to the unemployed common man" story arc. Mallard's back to reading the news and using the unemployed as a punchline as if none of that happened.

Tuesday: Yeesh, how hard a joke is this to mess up? "I'm not indecisive... or am I?"

I suppose it's a good thing Brews didn't go into a line of work where it actually matters if he's any good at it.
