That damned Immigration

What's Mallard raving about today?

President Obama, The Economy, Immigration

And yet, Republicans still can't keep themselves from screaming Build a Wall! Build a Bigger Wall! Build an Electric Fence!

So if that's not motivated by illegal immigration which has slowed due to economic factors, what is behind it, Mallard?

You know, I think the only time I've ever seen an American president hold up a newspaper like that is the "Dewey defeats Truman" photograph.

You know the one, where a supposedly unpopular Democratic president ended up shocking and embarrassing* a bunch of smug Republicans who were so absolutely sure he wouldn't win re-election that they started their victory laps early.

* This was back when Republicans were still capable of feeling embarrassment, shame, and other human emotions.

take two:

I'll bet the illegals going back home will help the US economy get worse, too.

Faithful Mallard readers in Arizona will have to make do by shooting emigrants instead of immigrants.

Tinsley totally forgot that deportations have been at an alltime high the last three years. I know he must have forgot because he's always so intellectually honest, right?

Most employers of illegals are conservatives - especially large meat processors, big farms, building contractors, and people who need help keeping up their grounds.

For example, one of my buddies who's a conservative retired oil man heard I was getting my roof done. He promptly recommended a guy ... who he assured me was now a citizen ... who could assemble a crew that would do the job for less than anyone else ... unspoken of course was that everyone but the owner would be illegal. My buddy had no shame about this because he was helping me out.

I said thanks but no thanks; my brother's in construction where it's real hard getting jobs when there are illegals ready to work for nothing ... and the bosses make the decisions.
