That damned Thanksgiving

What's Mallard raving about today?

The WGA, Thanksgiving, Families.

People in glass houses should not throw stones.

I like how the whole "shadow from underneath" effect makes it seem like he's trying to look menacing, but he still has the same glazed-over expression as always.

Rather fitting, actually.

So what Tinny's trying to say is that you stupid Americans spend too much time in front of the teevee. Again.

And because there is a writer's strike, the idiot box will cease to exist, and families will once more discover the joys of conversation.

Because there is no Internet, or video, or any other similar idle distractions vying for your attention with Grandpa's stories about all the things doctors have done to his butt.

Christ only knows what Tinny's going to make out of this...in three or four weeks, long after it's been forgotten. All I know is, he won't be able to actually illustrate it, so he'll just draw yet another picture of that stupid damned duck, spouting large gobs of text.

Silly, duck. He forgot about football.

And I Love Lucy reruns!

And the parade...

And the dog show...

and Law and Order reruns...

All the old shows didn't just vanish when they stopped making new ones.

Who's the bad guy today? TV or people who watch TV? And what about people who watch TV AND talk to their families?

Say what you will--this is still his least offensive strip in a long time. Happy Thanksgiving, you gin-sodden old crank.

Please. I like gin. Don't make me think I share a favorite libation with Brucie.

Feliz día de acción de gracias, everybody. More wine and turkey?

Mallard should be thankful he wasn't the duck part of a Turducken thanksgiving meal.
