That damned Vacation

What's Mallard raving about today?

Today, I don't know. But I should be back and reading Mallard Fillmore tomorrow. Pity me that fate.

Make it count!

Tragically, or not so much, you linked to the wrong comic. Today's is a retread of the discredited survey about how dittoheads are sooper-smart, combined with a nonsensical 'joke' about élitist liberals. You know, considering that the whole point of that idiotic "élitist liberals" thing is that the common folk of the heartland are dumbasses and prow duvit, this current moronic line of attack seems somehow inconsistent. Quel surprise.

Ooh! Ooh! I know this one! The capital of Arugula is Latte!

From what I can tell from going to a couple elitist restaurants lately, the snooty trendy green of choice these days is sorrel, not arugula. But then, sorrel doesn't have a funny, foreign-sounding name, and therefore probably doesn't make Tinshley snicker enough to noser his Schlitz.

Besides, when arugula is featured in dishes served at fucking Applebee's, it might not really work as a meme about us liberals and our faggy foods any more.

This whole thing is really poorly done even aside from the sloppily cited research which illustrates nothing.

Am I supposed to recognize Straw Liberal NPR man? Who is talking to who? Is it all straw man or does the duck say the middle part? Is the duck behind a desk or stacks of cardboard boxes in the Mallard Fillmore shipping depot?

geox is right. Mallard is an elitist!!

Mallard, why do you hate our heartland states like California and New York? NPR listeners are real Americans who know in their gut what's right - they don't need your so-called educashun.

Is that guy kneeling in front of two desks? Carrying two large boxes?

Wow, Toots, our guesses match up. Maybe he's helping Mallard with his weekly BevMo run by carrying those large boxes to his car.

What about Julian Sorrel? Okay, so technically there's only one R, but still, close enough--and he tries to kill his former lover in a CHURCH! Shocking, anti-American behavior! Do liberals want to kill people in churches? It would be irresponsible not to ask.

News knowledge ≠ intelligence, Mallard.

Case in point, he probably doesn't know what "≠" means.

The comic is funnier if you now imagine that Mallard, having been incited by Limbaugh, has beheaded someone (who didn't carry a gun for self defense against chainsaw-ducks) and he's now made himself a librulhedd-strawman with which he now mocks liberals.

Tomorrow will feature him sitting on a couch in front of the television cuddling the head while eating unidentifiable bits-in-a-bag while glaring smugly at the audience and saying something smugly about stupid TV shows.
