Tinsley = idiot.

Tinsley + two week lag = idiot running around on fire, banging a pan and shrieking, "I AM TEH MASTAR OF WURLDZ!!!!1 DURR HURR HURR"

Hmm, I haven't heard dozens of stories of air traffic controllers causing crashes. Nor have I heard much more about them than 'due to overwork both pilots and air traffic controllers are often doing too many shifts on too little sleep for too little pay.'

Though the lag makes this hilarious for the wrong reasons.

Will be amusing to see how much foot-in-mouth is seen the next several days, or if any re-runs happen to appear.

Just wait. In two to three weeks, this strip's going to show you all. It'll be wall-to-wall Royal Wedding larfs!

My guess is that whenever Tinsley gets around to talking about Obama taking out OBL it will be along the lines of "The lamestream media is hardly talking about George W. Bush's enormous role in taking out Osama Bin Laden".

Tinsley will have endless fun allocating all the credit for the Osama assassination to Bush, while Obama's fans will boast that he deserves the credit for the operation that blew an unarmed kidney patient's head off in front of his 12 year old daughter. after all, one young woman "rushed" at a Navy Seal, so that justified anything. Both sides can be happy there will be no nasty trial, where embarassing questions might be asked about this country's morbid, bi-partisan love of killing.

We all know what Anonyrast would like to do in front of Osama's 12-year-old daughter.

Our great nation does indeed have a morbid love of killing, but that has very little to do with our reaction to bin Ladn's shooting.

In a world of black-and-white, bright-line divisions, one might have some plausible grounds to condemn this extrajudicial slaying as the likely result of a plan to just shoot him and dump the body, to avoid the propaganda coup of a public trial. Who knows - that may in fact have been the plan - and it would be a good and legal plan, since bin Ladn formally declared war on the United States - making him at the very least the general of an enemy army, who by the laws of war may be shot by our troops whenever we get the chance. Bin Ladn set up the situation, and can't complain of the results.

But in the real world, it's just as likely that the whole thing happened very fast, and in the heat of battle, people shoot and get shot. That's one of the reasons war is such a bad, bad thing: lots of people who don't want to be involved get killed. In this case, of course, bin Ladn was not a bystander, but a general directing the war and therefore a legitimate target.

Dumping the body was too obviously a very smart move to bother discussing.

Now that the boogeyman is dead, maybe we can start dialing back on the fascination with killing that he and his allies encouraged. And by "allies", I'm not excluding the House of Bush and Saud - formal enemies, but companions in the effort to keep America Frightened.

P.S. today's "comic" is not worth discussing. Can the quality get lower?
