That damned Thing

What's Mallard raving about today?

Television

Rootbeer called it: "Oh god, this is start of a story line where he goes shopping for a new flatscreen widescreen tallscreen 1040g 80Hz 3-D LZD HBTV, isn't it?"

Hey, maybe THIS is the bold new direction the Tinsh promised us last fall. I mean, he did next to nothing with Mallard Faces Unemployment. But I guess that was just part of the build-up to Mallard Splays His Crotch Before A Different TV.

Haha, in his drunken stupor Mallard has forgotten that he already has a flatscreen TV, AS EVIDENCED BY YESTERDAY'S "COMIC"! Goddamn this is the sloppiest, most asinine "comic" ever devised, but alas, like a train wreck I just. can't, look. away.

TV was better back when it blasted your face with 280p radiation in monaural sound, amirite?

Life is so horrible now that the electronics we throw out when they break down no longer have huge CRTs to clog landfills.

On another note, I am officially changing a light bulb. There's no joke there, just the satisfaction that it's a light I use very frequently and it's the first time I've ever had to change it... in over 3 years.

Jeez, Steve-0, but even with my cataract'd old eyes I could see that the duck's "nervous breakdown" television was a CRT design.

Tinsley is trying to establish that his protagonist (and personal representative character) hasn't so much as entered a sports bar in the past decade?

So maybe Tinsley did quit drinking after his DUI bust five years ago.

Or has he just been sousing himself at home?

I congratulate Brewsky on drawing another "comic" that is not hateful. It's not funny, and it comes down to "Hey, kids, get off my lawn!" but well, there's a market for everything and if he can make a living peddling this stuff, why not?

I congratulate @Tucci for using no potty words, but he'd better get stronger glasses if he thought the bump in the bottom 25% of Mallard's 1993 TV looked anything like an electron gun housing. This is just more of the characteristically lazy Tinshley scribbling: he drew a flat-screen tv then added a lump at the bottom. The result looks like "a flat-screen TV with a lump at the bottom for some mysterious purpose", not "an old TV".

I think Mallard's trying to muscle in on the turf currently occupied by the cutting-edge "Pluggers" franchise. Perhaps instead of just writing the strips, he'll angle for a way to get readers to draw them as well. Win-win.

Tinsley means the plug, but since he knows nothing about any technology from the last millenium, he has no idea what that is.

Tinsley, rest assured that if anyone can tolerate you long enough to care, your plug will be pulled at the first opportunity.

Douchie hasn't been around long enough to know that Tinsley's rendition of a flat-screen television is a new development. Just a few months back he was still drawing the big clunky old-school box television. Well, if you can call what he does "drawing".

Damnit, that last comment was mine. Hit the wrong button apparently.

I am so, so sorry.

Don't beat yourself up Rootbeer, there's nothing you could've done to prevent this.

Good grief -- not only are the TVs hanging on the wall crooked, but Mallard is staring past them at a blank section of wall, which is partially obscured by his thought balloon.

I guess coherent composition is for them artsy-fartsy liberals, eh, Brucie?

Don't you people know any REAL words? Your vocabulary sounds like a twelve-year-old's ghettogab.
