That damned Call Volume

What's Mallard raving about today?

Tech Support

And with today's new low, with its plethora of duck crotch, we have reached a point where I would rather sit on hold waiting for tech support than read Mallard Fillmore.

He's on hold waiting for the place where he buys his ideas.

Mallard's still trying to figure out why the "cup holder" on his PC stopped working.

There have been volumes of material with great humor possibilities the last few months, with the ongoing debates (on even on TV, on Fox)! And this is the best the duck can come up with??? For an entire week??

Wait, did he keel over from being on hold for so long? Is he finally dead?

THIS IS THE BEST MALLARD FILLMORE EVER! LET'S GET THE CONFIT GOING!

This would almost have been a good 'Ziggy'.

The only really bad thing about today's "comic" (...other than it's excessive wordiless and lazy duck crotch drawing...) is that it raises the false hope that "Mallard Fillmore" might give up shilling for its corporate owners in favor of being an animal-themed "Born Loser" clone.

Okay Gunga Din or Punjeesh or whatever your name is, I bought this stupid phone from Infotech, and whenever I make dust angels with underage boys in my apartment it butt-calls a phone-sex line in the Dominican Republic. What are you going to do about it? Quack!

Well, Mallard, now you know how the rest of us feel every time you do one of your interminable series of strips on whatever nonexistent outrage you hallucinated about that week.

That is all.

God, these responses are funnier than Tinsley's EVER been, even in his better days.

But don't worry, Mallard will be back to foaming at the beak in a couple of weeks:

The U.S. Postal Service announced on Thursday new plans to consolidate or close 223 mail processing plants, putting 35,000 jobs at stake starting in late May or June.

Batshit Bruce just has to decide if he wants to use this to insincerely bemoan the Obamaconomy, or giggle hysterical over postal workers losing their jobs. (I suppose he could do both during a week-long rant; it's not like he's capable of recognizing the hypocrisy involved...)

Fixed that for you.

He's really phoning it in this week!

Okay, that sucked, but it was still funnier than Mallard.

If you're too drunk to stand up, you shouldn't be making phone calls.
