Those damned groans

What's Mallard raving about today?

The Media, Hillary Clinton.

It's tempting to point to the manner in which the lag between Iowa and New Hampshire makes Mallard look like an idiot.

I prefer, however, to point to the manner in which he insinuates that the media are fans of Clinton as a better example of something which makes Mallard look like an idiot.

Not that pointing to things which make Mallard look like an idiot takes much effort, of course...

That caricature of Hillary in the middle was NOT necessary. AT ALL.

I commented about Tinsley's childish use of caricature in the previous thread, so instead I'll focus my vitriol on another 'toonist on our side of the aisle.

Steve Benson, while far more skilled artistically than Tinny, sure knows how to pull his own brand of hatchet-job. Remember: if a black voter picks Obama because he's black (as some have already professed to TV cameras), that's okay--but if one of you dirty honkies votes for Hillary, it's only because you're a racist!!! Bigots vote Clinton!!!1 Gork gork gork!!

Yeesh.

Why did the colorist make Condoleezza Rice white, and what is she doing in a strip about Hillary in the first place?

The groans are coming from the newsroom as they look at today's Mallard Fillmore.

Maybe he should just publish one big, ugly caricature of his least-favorite liberal and put it up for the week. It would save both him and his readers a lot of time.

It's worth pointing out that Steve Benson used to be a conservative cartoonist until sometime around mid-1990s, when his politics changed.

This may be the best piece of evidence that Tinsley is not attempting to create obscene "caricatures" of people he dislikes (everyone), but that is simply incapable of drawing anything that isn't a duck with downs syndrome.
