Those damned lies

What's Mallard raving about today?

Barack Obama, Joe Biden.

Typical Mallard. Horse crap setup. Botched follow through.

Horse crap setup: Joe Biden committed plagiarism.

Botched follow through: Inaugural address? What about his Acceptance Speech? Do I have to write this stuff for you, Mallard?

Well, I suppose it's a good sign that Obama gets elected in Tinsleyworld, at least.

Obama also shouldn't have taken his ears to a boob job specialist.

As hacky as this is, I'll take it over another week of whining about teachers.

What is today's strip about?

It can't be Tinsley telling us that his teachers made him read The Gettysburg Address, A Tale of Two Cities, and Moby Dick. They were all anti-American rote-learning nothing-is-true curve grading D-minus givers.

It must be that Biden talks fancy, unlike a real guy. Biden is an elitist!

Yeah, that's it. Obama and Biden grew up working-class and made their way into the Senate by hard work, but they're more elitist than the son of an admiral who bought his way into a Senate seat with his wife' money.

"Botched follow through."

...and a complete frackin' mystery to anybody who doesn't mainline Fox News 24/7.

Botched follow-through, yes, but let's give credit where it's due--it's a tired (and *old*--we're not talking a two-week lag, this is a twenty-one-year one!), but at least it has the chance of raising a vague smile in anyone who remembers Biden's run for the presidency.

That's more than we can say for most of Tinsley's work, after all.

Appropriating someone else's speech to fit your own biography in 1987 > Lying about the "Bridge to Nowhere" on 23 separate occasions last week

Ok, the week(s?) of teachers suddenly makes sense. This, rather than being an annoying poor portrayal of a non-event, is now a welcome change.

Genius.

um, his obama caricatures have been more flattering than mccain's.

Wow, there's at least a joke in this one, more than you can say for 99% of these lame comics. Too bad it references something so old that half the people reading it won't understand it. And the drawing of Obama looks nothing like him.

And do Republicans really want to dredge up old scandals from the 1980s? There was something called the Keating Five... wait, that John McCain ethics scandal doesn't count, for some reason.

Even if you're a Bush fan this garbage doesn't make sense.

I guess we're supposed to think: "I have no idea what the hell he's talking about but I think he might be suggesting some sort of negative thing about Bush's enemies. That makes it hilarious automatically." It's like badly written Yo Mamma jokes.

Next up for Mallard: A comic where Obama is painting but he's not very good at it. Ha ha! Zing!

By the way, Obama doesn't get elected in Tinsleyworld. It's just that Tinsley has no idea what an inaugural address is.
