What's Mallard raving about today?
Dennis Hopper, rebellious rebel-types and really-cool guys.
Pretty much everything you need to know about Mallard is summed up in this panel, and I'm not talking about the rambling incoherence and the unrecognizable caricature.
Apparently Mallard believes that the members of the Sixties generation, most of whom morphed into Yuppies, went 40 years from the late 60's until now without ever holding down a job.

Wow, a "damn hippies" joke. He just gets more original every day. I look forward to tomorrow's installment where he complains about these kids today and their blasted rock n' roll music.
This cartoon is so fricking weird. So has Dennis Hopper come out of Mallard's TV, Samara-style? Or is Bruce seriously too lazy to draw a square TV screen around Dennis?
So... who are those people I see working then who look about 60?
Anon - they're conservatives, who avoided the nasty hippy, "cool" scene. (The squares.)
I saw it and thought, yay! walter Williams nonsense again.
But no, he got drunk while listening to those "you survived the '60s ads".
::sigh::
In a few months, we'll hear from strawliberal about his daughter - though I was wondering, who comes home from college in February? Spring break's not for another month or so, and Christmas break was last month.
But Mallard wouldn't know about college, only liberals go to college and don't drink it out of their memory at the same time.
Or is Bruce seriously too lazy to draw a square TV screen around Dennis? - Luke
This is rhetorical, right?
Uh, yes. It was 2 in the morning, I wasn't thinking clearly.
I guess all those "liberals" never had the drive to grow up and become failed alcoholic cartoonists!
Kind of ironic, seeing as how Mr. Hopper has been a "Republican since Reagan." I wonder if Tinsley would have found himself a different strawman if he'd known that.
Yes, this is an extremely late comment. Love the blog, though.
