That damned pig

What's Mallard raving about today?

Congress, Republicans, College Football, Flying Pigs.

If, in Mallard's little fantasy world, "pigs can fly" why would Mallard need to be able to "land" it? Wouldn't he just have to hang on while the pig, you know, flew?

Once again demonstrating that Mallard's limited grasp of the English language is the basis for his hatred toward Education.

On the plus side...the back of Walter Williams' head makes a cameo. Unless that's Alan Keyes. Or Barack Obama?

We have the technology to make a pig fly.

But only in a badly-written comic can the Republicans nominate a black man for president.

(I'm serious about the "badly-written" part. Panel 4 might have been funny if the writer had been brave enough to omit the words entirely.)

ZOMG IZZAT SUM WALLY WILLY? (Must be, Keyes doesn't wear specs.) Way to beat that dead horse, Tinny.

I'll give Tinpot credit for differentiating between "genuine" conservatives and the current gang of neo-cons slithering under the rocks in DC, but I'd like to remind him that Reagan was no genuine conservative, either. (Try as one might to blame the record deficits of the Reagan years on Democrats, no budget was enacted that didn't have Ronnie's name scribbled on it.)

Also, in spite of the lack of a face for his Genuine Conservative, Tinny actually put a bit of effort into the artwork this time. Tinny gets a gold star and first pick out of the toybox!

...Still curious what you'd cut, though, Tinsley. Public education, of course--it didn't do you a bit of good, did it?--but where else would such a genu-con as yourself make the tough decisions (that affect someone else)?

P.S.: Today's Candorville reminds me of someone...

To be completely truthful, the cartoonist in this strip doesn't remind me of Tinny half as much as the grotesque Lisa Benson, who usually seems okay--even enjoyable--but then craps out something like this or this.

As you can see, she's a climate change denialist like Tinny. Her archive seems to be missing the one depicting "California public education" as a giant, fat man-child gobbling up all the food at the family table--"the Budget"--while the Governor gleefully holds the parents--"California Taxpayers"--helpless in their chairs. Christ wept. How can someone so talented be so willfully stupid?

Nice to see Lisa Benson mentioned here.

Out of curiosity, what do you think of Mike Lester?

Oh, and PS, check this out:

Thanks, Bonnie! Rightwing Cartoon Watch goes straight into my bookmarks! (...Oh, the poor conservatives! They have NO voice in the dirty Liberal Media!)

I'm not that familiar with Mark Lester, but like what I've rummaged through in the past couple of mintues. (I don't mind jabs at liberals--they are, after all, often deserved--and Lester's don't seem nearly as nasty as the grotesque caricatures of Reid, Pelosi, Hillary, and other Dems found among the genuine trash in the RCW, which actually shocked this Mallard Fillmore vet with their viciousness. Even RCW author Batocchio notes, "at least Lester is funny...")

Ah, but Chuck Asay (again, courtesy of RCW)--I think he drew one of my favorite pieces of head-shaking pro-occupation garbage propaganda from years ago: George W. Bush, heroically patrolling the streets of Baghdad in full Marine combat gear--GOD, being warned by a grateful-for-liberation Iraqi family (cough) about an ambush waiting around the corner, to be carried out by...Teh Liberal Media!!!11 9_9

Not even Tinny would go that far off the rails. (Depicting Bush in active combat, that is.) Asay is a delusional creep of a whole different order.

Thanks again!

Seconding the thanks on that link! (The RCW, not Lisa Benson - WTF does that second one even mean?)

It looks really interesting.

I thought Mallard would loooooooooooove Huckabee!

The man said he was a minority as conservative.

In Arkansas.

You think Mallard would want a candidate as persecuted as he is!

Not only did Reagan sign every budget, he wanted MORE spending on his proposed budgets. George Bush is merely Reagan with an enabling Republican Congress.

The current crop of conservatives who long for Reagan fiscal conservatism, loved everything about the Bush spending budgets back in the day.

and isn't Mark Lester Oliver Twist?

Regarding his demand for a college football playoff:
Maybe instead of having those kids in classes instead of playing an extra four or so games to satisfy your drunken lust for football players, Tinsley, you wouldn't have as much to complain about when it comes to the educational system you so admire.

The funny thing about this strip is that #1 and #2 are diametrically opposite. He might as well have written:
#1: Santa WILL be real, and he'll bring preasents to me and me only and let me sit on his lap and pull his beard and feed his reindeer!
#2: I'll get to go through second grade again, but this time, I'll be the one who first learns that Santa isn't real, and it will be I who make THEM cry! Hahahaha!
