Those damned returns

What's Mallard raving about today?

Returning gifts.

In point of fact, the person who coined the phrase said "Many happy returns of the day" and would think you are an idiot.

Apparently Mallard got a bunch of crappy gifts for Christmas.

His non-political cartoons should be nonsense, like the good Doctor Golden Flash.

When he's just a curmudgeon, it feels like he's the biggest plagiarist in the world.

I bet he'll be back to predictions tomorrow or Sunday.

Nonsense, yes. Boring? No. But that's what we get.

Instead of standing in line and bitching pointlessly about it, though, I'll share another Mallard alternative wit'cha.

The first two are meh but unlike Mallard it gets better quickly.

(I've been wondering where to find these. They pop up on boards once in a while, but only recently did I find one with the referring URL intact.)

In other words, if you're going to steal a joke, at least steal a good one.

If Mallard got bad gifts for Christmas, there are two reasons that I can think of.

He didn't tell anyone what he wants or what he likes.

OR

His friends and family hate his guts.

Mallard has friends and family? Or are we just talking about the people who tolerate him at work and that kid he has over sometimes to play in the dirt on his floor?

Dlauthor, no no no, he has nobody.

It's one thing to buy something for yourself for Christmas, but it's even better to buy yourself something terrible that you have to return!

Better as in hilarious, because it's Mallard.

With the price of energy, Mallard should be happy with coal.

Based on Dust Angels and the Razor Return, I'd say Mallard gets mainly personal grooming and cleaning supplies; both he desperately needs, neither of which he wants.
