Golden Ellipses: Least Accurate Caricature

And the winner is...

Hillary Clinton

The nominees for Least Accurate Caricature are:
  • Abraham Lincoln - The face may be Lincoln, but the ears are Dumbo and the lips are Bill Murray from Caddyshack..."So I got that going for me, which is nice."
  • Ted Kennedy - One thing you notice when looking at the actual Ted Kennedy is that he has plenty of characteristcs which can be caricatured without resorting to giving him buck teeth which recall Propoganda pictures of Tojo and which would require gnawing on bark to keep under control.
  • Elliot Spitzer - Penis chin. 'Nuff said.
  • Hillary Clinton - A fact which is only discernable through the text. Also an indication that Mallard believes that caricature consists of elongating chins and adding buck teeth.
  • Barack Obama - Comparison to a January caricature offers proof that the size of the chin is proportional to how much Mallard hates someone.
Vote, using the penis-chin on the right.

That looks nothing like Hillary, and there isn't even a penis chin. How stupid.

Mallard always looks so good. Why can't he draw anything else?

My God, i will go for the spitzer one. aside for not looking remotedly anything like Elliott Spitzer, Tinsley gave us the benefit of not continuing to present him. the rest of his cartoons only show inconsistency in drawing. if you look at all of the Al Gore ones, none of them look like the other.

I do feel like Spitzer wins for sheer incompetence, but I'm torn between that and Obama: there's just something about knowing that he CAN draw a half-way decent caricature of the dude; he merely chooses not to, out of spite or laziness or god knows what. And, of course, knowing that we'll be seeing a LOT more of this particular artistic abortion.

Gotta be that godawful Hillary. Second goes to Honest Abe, but only because he managed to turn someone he probably admires into a grotesque lumpy monster.

I look forward to seeing his Obama warp into absolute incomprehensibility over the next eight years.

These are all pretty awful, but I'm going with Ted.

My vote is for Ted Kennedy. The rest are godawful too, but at least they look human.

Ted. In addition to giving him Bugs Bunny's teech, Bruce stuffed the Senator's cheeks full of chewed-up carrot.

In the spirit of co-operation (I'm reading "The Audacity of Hope" at last...) let me invite AnonTinsley to vote on this!

Every (honest) artist has his or her favorite and less favorite works. To create is, often, to create less than you'd aimed at, and it's usually worth hearing why a particular artist thinks this or that creation just didn't meet expectations.

So, are you up to it? Tell us, which of these is your least fav and why.

Alternatively, if you cannot bear to admit one of yours is less nerfect, tell us which one is LEAST deserving of being rated "Least Accurate". Do you actually perceive Teddy with rodent teeth, or Obama with a huge schlongadongachin?

Explain! You may persuade!

Another hard choice, because Tinsley clearly lets his hate influence him and then draws elements into caricatures that *don't even exist* just to make them uglier. (Remember Jon Stewart's gigantic Jew hook nose? The one he doesn't have in real life?) Obama's going to get REALLY ugly over the next few years, but for now, those Kennedy and Clinton drawings aren't just ugly, they're *bad*.

Obama's, because not only is it inaccurate, but it's not even consistently inaccurate.

You know you're a bad cartoonist when this doesn't even make the top 5 for the Least Accurate Caricature award.
