That damned hair

What's Mallard raving about today?

Rod Blagojevich

So, today's joke, such as it is, is that Rod Blagojevich has funny hair.

This incisive observation, little more than a schoolyard taunt, is appearing in newspapers across America as an example of Republican wit.

To make matters better, the accompanying picture doesn't even look like Blagojevich's hair.

On another note, I can now spell Blagojevich without having to look it up. That's not good. (Update: I spoke too soon!)

I am pretty that I have seen many models and actresses with this haircut, thus, this makes no fucking sense as a predictable.

Why the fuck is the model a mannish, flat chested woman or effeminate man? Tinsley's closeted gay fantasies or homphobia, again, appears!

I meant prediction, sorry, I am tired.

Davey, please write descriptions for the Golden Ellipses nominees. I enjoyed the awards last year but listing a bunch of titles would be rather inane. Thanks for listening.

Old joke, much funnier when John Stewart mocks the hair.

*yawn*

Not surprising, I don't expect a conservative to tune in when a liberal comedian makes fun of a democrat. That makes their heads explode.

2 things:

1- That looks more like an anorexic Laura Bush, because the hair looks at all like Blago.

2-Old joke. Stewart and Maddow make it definetly funnier.

Why did Christie Todd Whitman dye her hair?

DaveyK,

Don't worry too much. For what it's worth, you only spelled it correctly 50% of the time in this post! ;)

I was at a loss on how to comment on today's completely vacuous strip, until I followed Squiddy's link to

Stop, watch, pass it on!

"Duck and Cover" who?

My initial reaction to the model of sorts was wow, that's his best looking human EVER. The hair looks great.

He made the same joke every one else did - poorly - and botched the drawing by making the woman look pretty.

This involves two of Tinsley's favorite subjects: Democratic scandals, and anorexic models. Put her in front of a blackboard, and he's in hog heaven.

Moron...are you "pretty"? Are you illiterate? Who in fact is the faggot, pretty boy? Do you believe by using the word "fuck" in every sentence (which is "predictable") that you attempt to write, will give folks a different opinion of you?

Hmm... the joke failed, but it didn't even have the decency to fail in an amusing manner.

Ah well. I'll tune in tomorrow anyway. Maybe the comments will be funnier.

Anonymous is so cute when he's angry. Makes me want to buy him a toy or hand him a beer. Well, almost...

Anonymous said...

Don't give him a beer, please. He'll just try to drive home.

I admitted that I was tired while writing that post, thus, I made a mistake. I had spent the day working and the time was very late. Please, refer to a previous post where I showed my vocabulary, using words such as "concatenated," "obdurate" and "malfeasant."

Oh for crying out... You don't need to add the possessive contraction 's' when the word ends in s already, douchenozzle. Yeah, go bitch about education more, ass.

Unfunny concept is given unfunny execution. Smug and self-important title makes me angry.

Speaking of smug ignorance, Anonymous has, once again, decided to add more mass his giant black hole of ignorance (which I am convinced will ultimately devour the universe) and comment on this blog. Perhaps he should leave the English language to those of us who know how to use it. To whit, he claims that "You don't need to add the possessive contraction 's' when the word ends in s."

Let us consider his two major errors here:

1. Anonymous says that apostrophe-ess is a "possessive contraction." Apostrophe-ess, typically denoted as "'s" is not a possessive contraction. The possessive contraction has not existed since the late 17th century when the his genitive still had a role in daily language. Since then, our language has evolved such that contractions and possessive nouns are two distinct forms of words, both of which happen to use apostrophes. In a contraction, as those of us who aren't Anonymous know, the apostrophe is used to replace missing letters such as the "o" when we say "shouldn't" instead of "should not". Likewise, the apostrophe or the apostrophe-ess are used with nouns and proper nouns to show possession such as "the dogs' cages" or "Natalia's dog."

2. Anonymous states that you should not use the apostrophe-ess "when the word ends in s." This is true, in so far as the word ending in "s" is a plural. Thus, "two lawyers' bills" is correct, and "two lawyers's bills" is incorrect. On the other hand, if the word ending in "s" is singular, you would use apostrophe-ess. Thus, "Anonymous's giant black hole of ignorance" is correct, while "Anonymous' giant black hole of ignorance" is incorrect.

Anyway, I digress. It's obvious that Anonymous is a huge fan of the Tinkley. And, given his profound lack of humor, his slavish devotion to RNC talking points, and his obdurate ignorance in the face of verifiable truth, I can see why. In fact, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say that Anonymous is Tinkley. Or possibly his younger, less-talented, drunker brother. It’s really hard to say.

It's possible that there's more then one person commenting on this blog who doesn't have a google/openID name. Mine comment was directed at Ducky; I try not to feed trolls and skip over what they say.

I suppose I could use the Name/URL, but I'm not witty enough to come up with a good name.

And 's on the end of words, especially proper nouns, is still wrong. Maybe not wrong as in 2 + 2 = 94, but wrong like feeding puppies to rabid manatees. Illinois has such a hard s sound that adding the second s is just gratuitous.

Will the real Anonymous please stand up....I want to abuse the troll, not the innocent individuals who want to anonymously abuse Anonymous.
