That damned Tree

What's Mallard raving about today?

Trees, President Obama, The Media.

In the wake of the Shirley Sherrod fiasco, Mallard timing make him look like an idiot...more than usual.

(I'm not really expecting an answer to the following question.)

Is Batshit kidding? Any and every alleged misstep or airy rumor about a liberal is flogged to death by the entire media (behold the recent accusations against Al Gore) while for eight years, hardly anyone on TV would even breach the subject of PNAC.

Turn the TV off, Batshit. Just because everyone else doesn't take Glenn Beck's unhinged conspiracy theories seriously doesn't mean there's a conspiracy.

Again, the concept of "truthiness" proves it's usefulness. It doesn't matter if anything Tinsley says is actually *true;* the point is it FEELS true because he WANTS it to be true, and that's enough to MAKE it true. How pleasant to live in a world entirely unconstrained by all those lame reality-based buzzkills.

Definitely bad timing. Especially since the entire affair makes the white house look bad no matter what angle was taken from beginning to end.

But not as bad as FOX news. There was an organization that wanted to believe the myth that blacks get together and laugh at how they keep whites down.

If Batshit drank himsilf into a coma, and his "comics" didn't get turned in to be published, would anyone care?

Tinsley fails to understand a simple metaphor, but that is understandable, since he failed out of the sixth grade. He never reads anything, so he is rarely exposed to metaphors, thus, he ignores them, just, as he does human rights, social inequities, corporate corruption, and anyone who needs the slightest help.

Note: I am the same guy from yesterday; I decided that this name was more appropriate.

Yes, Brucie, we get it, already: You came out of your rum-soaked haze long enough to remember that you added a second "joke" to your repertoire two years ago ("The media's in love with Obama! Hur-hur! Hur-hur!). What, do you want a Scooby Snack or something?

Congrats, you created a cartoon that's slightly more creative than a knock-knock joke.

If a tree falls in the woods ... it's the fault of the Obama Administration.

If you ignore reality, then you can make believe anything you want! The media NEVER says anything bad about the Obama administration! Republicans are fiscally conservative! White people never do anything bad! Getting shit face drunk and driving is a good decision!

Here, I'll take your failed concept and make it work, Ducky: If George Bush chops down a tree in the woods, and it falls and crushes a school for orphans, don't you think now is not the time to place blame on who cut down the tree, and move forward for the well being of the nation?

VW: Fanse: the generic off-brand swill vodka Tinshly buys.

Funny, just yesterday the LA Times ran a concern-troll piece titled "Obama the Velcro president" (http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-velcro-presidency-20100730,0,7529812.story).

Seriously disingenuous given that they didn't see fit to mention the massive propaganda apparatus whose overarching goal is making the president look so bad people will forget what a bunch of malicious fuckups the Rethuglicans are.

So, once again, the Tinsh wakes up in a puddle of his own puke to notice his timing is pathetic.

I wonder when Mallard is going to mention the fact that the media is going ape-shit over the Charlie Rangel saga while barely even mentioning the (much more sordid) John Ensign affair.

Oh wait, never.

Some strong symbolic imagery in this one.

We have a duck in a scratchy tweed suit set in contrast against the lush greens of the forest; this waterfowl has been forced far out of his natural element, his helplessness palpable, his stature tiny among the tall trees that surround him.

Arms outstretched, eyes turned heavenward, his mind calls out to its Creator, seeking the self-affirmation that comes with the attainment of absolute truth.

"Why is it that we drive on the parkway, and park on the driveway?"

His Creator doesn't answer.

Arms outstretched indeed. We're crucifying that poor damned duck! Crucifying him!
