Ah, another faceful of duck crotch. Well played, Mr. Laziest Cartoonist on Earth.
Well, how about that. Mallard's finally figured out what most people already know; that family dysfunction leads to dysfunctional families. Bravo!
Maybe next week he'll find himself agreeing with Hillary Clinton on the whole "it takes a village" thing. Nah, who am I kidding? He'll say it's public education's fault somehow.
I don't mean to criticize, Tinsley (the hell I don't), but you're squandering your opportunity to gloat about the elections here. I mean, sure, you can still DO it, but it's not gonna MEAN anything (not that it would have anyway) if you do it so late. Not that that'll stop you or anything, but nobody'll GIVE a shit (not that they would've anyway). Still--and I can't believe I'm saying this--I'm thinking it would've been preferably to this stunningly moronic "storyline" you've got going (though it would still have sucked).
So apparently the "Mallard is fired" storyline has been ignored in favor of the old standby "Mallard complains about TV while showing us his crotch" storyline. Either way, it ends up in the same place: whine whine whine. (Mallard could turn of the TV and read a book, but that would be edging dangerously close to "efette intellectual" territory.)
I am outraged by how bad this strip is in every way:
1. Overly wordy 2. Ageometric perspective 3. Artwork probably pasted in from a previous strip 4. Punchline pasted in from a previous strip 5. Forgot to tell a joke 6. How the hell is that a TV set 7. Pointless 8. Grrrr
Bagel, coffee, dicks, glorious dicks to suck with bagel and coffee. I like to put the dick through the bagel so I scuk and get cream cheese on my lips and then the real cream cheese comes and I say yummers!
Aha! I finally see where Bruce is going with this: Mallard will make his triumphant return to the world of journalism with an in-depth, unflinching, no-holds-barred investigative report on the state of the American family and how--
Oh, wait. I just remembered which strip this is. Mallard will just keep sitting on his ass and bitching, as usual.

Mallard fired is identical to Mallard working.
I didn't watch that much daytime television as a sick child. There's a world outside the door, why not try to go find a job in it, ducky?
