That damned Respect

What's Mallard raving about today?

Santa Claus, Diversity.

Mallard is making less sense every single day.

Oh yeah--bring on the WAR ON CHRISTMAS. It's so unbelievably stupid, and yet every single year...

YOUR DIVERSITY-RESPECTING MESSAGE IS INTOLERANT OF MY DISRESPECT FOR DIVERSITY URRRRRRRRRRP.

I guess that's what Batshit's message is here. Who the hell can tell anymore?

LOLWUT?

I guess the "joke" is that Santa does not believe in "Happy Holidays" therefore he represents diversity in opinion. But that's just stupid: Santa is *always* represented as liking Christmas - that's one of his defining characteristics.

Meanwhile, we see yet Sunday strip that's a daily one-panel blown up large. Stupid is bad enough but LAZY is unforgivable in a comic.

"Write what you know," they say, so Bruce gives us bitter, angry Santa with a hangover. Given how little sense the strip makes, that's probably how he was when he drew it.

Lovely selection of toys! A beat-up pickup truck about to go up on cinderblocks and a crazy old lady who lives in a trailer park, who's probably mumbling something about "secret Muslims." "I'm dreaming of a white trash Christmas!" Write what you know!

I'm guessing that the point Brucie was trying to make had something to do with the fact that he put the word "holidays" in bold. And even the effort of guessing is more than this pathetic offering deserves.

..when else would one expect a Happy Holidays card?

Yes, this man was paid for workmanship of this quality. Sad.

Since Batshit's gone totally off the rails today, shall we amuse ourselves with a quiz?

Q. Wikileaks has revealed that international terrorism is funded primarily by Saudi Arabia. The proper response by a patriotic American is to:

(a) Buy a gas-guzzler to keep US dollars flowing to Saudi Arabia, HAW HAW LIBERALS;

(b) Blame Obama;

(c) Declare Wikileaks a terrorist organization and call for the murder of its founder;

(d) Threaten citizens who view the documents posted by Wikileaks (in spite of the fact that they simply confirm what people have suspected for generations);

(e) All of the above;

(f) None of the above. I'm a patriotic American in deed as well as word;

(g) Watch for people who answer "none of the above" and report them to the authorities.

I guess I can understand why this would irk Mallard.

It takes him so much effort to wish someone just one happy day, Christmas, that wishing someone also have fun on a closely following holiday that all Christians celebrate is just too much to expect. You know, that exotic holiday called New Years Day.

If you feel like you're going to pass out in the armchair again, make sure your chin is tilted slightly forward.

If you feel more festive Xmas Day, use a whole case
