Hollywood, Taxes.
Wait, uh...wouldn't "Mr Williams" have to pay higher taxes also? Or has he found a way to get a tax passed that doesn't apply to celebrities?
Seriously, Mallard Fillmore has become even less thoughtful than ever before, and that's saying something!
Today's panel may as well just say: "Hollywood Liberals, Taxes, Booga Booga!" Adding the drawing is entirely optional as it adds nothing anyway.

This makes no sense. I don't want other people to pay taxes because I feel guilty, I want other people to pay a fair portion of taxes that doesn't burden the lower income, who are then free to work their way up towards a higher pay scale without crippling mortgages, health insurance, and taxes.
Actually, I'm pretty sure the drawings in MF usually take away from, rather than just not adding to, the content of the panel.
exanon, it doesn't make sense to you because you don't have a custom-modified 8-ball that you look at for plot ideas. Today he looked at it enough times to get "liberal guilt," "evil Hollywood," and "higher taxes." "Sigmund Freud" and "bloated crotch in the face" are refinements he thought of all by himself.
Let me take a moment to salute those "Hollywood celebrities" who actually give a rat's @ss about the future of our nation and our planet - people like Jolie and DiCaprio who would be perfectly justified in swimming in pools of cash like Scrooge McDuck, but instead actually go and help real people with real problems.
Attacking people like that is the work of jealous hacks.
Odd... the only filthy rich Hollywood celebrities I've ever heard talking about taxes are the conservative ones -- and that was to bitch and whine about how high their taxes are.
Hey, Brucie, maybe you could do a week of strips about "rich conservative guilt" -- a phenomenon in which filthy rich conservatives (and not just celebrities, but those who have the power to influence public policy) recognize deep in the pits of their souls how greedy, uncaring, and selfish they are, and so lash out at the people who serve as reminders of those feelings: the poor and the increasingly-shrinking middle class. (See? I can do dime-store psychoanalysis, too!)
Oh, but that would require an amount and degree of though that couldn't be encapsulated on a bumper sticker. Never mind.

It's ironic in a way. Liberals are all jealous of rich business owners who own oil companies, spill on our shore, and make a mess of a mess, when they shouldn't be because according to the free market, the rich are always correct and we're just all jealous without justification for stuff we didn't earn.
But take a rich celebrity who might be liberal, and suddenly it's perfectly fine to insult them. If money made right, Oprah is the next Jesus and we're all just muggles.
