Those damned Cartoon Characters

What's Mallard raving about today?

Republican Presidential Candidates

I am way too lazy to confirm this myself, but my intuition tells me that roughly two weeks ago John McCain was declared the presumptive Republican nominee for President.

Which would begin to explain today and yesterday.

WHAT ON EARTH IS WRONG WITH THE ARTIST'S HAND? Geez, no wonder he can't draw.

And anyway, I clearly remember Mallard saying he was a member of the Libertarian Party, so he can't run anyway. What a moron.

I thought it was a foot with the pencil there. Really.

Mallard, no self-respecting GOP follower would vote for you. That's not idle speculation, either.

NW pointed out in the "Golden Ellipses: Creativity In Cartooning" thread that Tinny's weird 'pinched pencil' has Freudian overtones to rival Chet's chin and other phallic neck/head imagery, albeit with different genitalia.

"You're a little late. Plus, you're a cartoon character." Dammit--if only Nader had waited a few more days, this would've been so perfect. It would've been that rare moment where Two-Week Tinny's time-lag actually paid off.

In the last panel, I'm sure Tinny meant his little flopsweat-dripping punchline as a jab at the Democrats, not McCain...and especially not Mikey Hucky! He's teh strong on Jeebus and whar!!

factinista: oh my Zeus, you're right. Apparently Tinny is inflicted with complex syndactyly - that would certainly explain his drawing style.

Wait, what about Walter E. Williams? Shouldn't he be swooping in any day now with massive grassroots support from Tinshley's faithful readers to snatch the nomination away from that torture-hating pussy McCain?

Three weeks ago today, Romney dropped out. It probably took Tinsley a week to figure out that McCain had it wrapped up.
