That damned Change

What's Mallard raving about today?

Democrats, Teabaggers.

When the change in Congress (which occurs in January, not so  much overnight) involves the election of closed-minded, extremist, Islamophobes, then I have to ask...what the hell are you talking about?

  • Attitudes towards Arabs: Democrats -- 57% favorable, 30% unfavorable; Republicans -- 28% favorable, 66% unfavorable.
  • Attitudes towards Muslims: Democrats -- 54% favorable, 34% unfavorable; Republicans -- 12% favorable, 85% unfavorable.
  • Do you feel you know enough about Arab Countries/people or Islam/Muslims or do you feel you need to know more?: Democrats -- 68% would "like to know more" about Islam, with 80% wanting "to know more" about the Arab World; Republicans -- 71% say they "know enough" and 58% "don't want to learn more".

Hey Tinsley! You wanna provide A SINGLE FUCKING ACTUAL EXAMPLE of a media anchor SAYING anything remotely like that?

Of course you don't. Because they never do. You persist in believing this thing that is demonstrably not true. The mind boggles.

Well, granted, occasionally, if only incidentally, you might see accurate representations of teabaggers on the news, which I suppose is just as bad...

Sigh...

I just want to pat Mallard on the head. How can you get mad at a simpleton?

I also like how his idea of "reporting" is to slouch bleary-eyed in front of the teevee and then incoherently free-associate about what he saw. Why does teh librul media continue to employ this obvious incompetent? Is it some sort of affirmative action thing?

That's a good observation: Mallard goes straight from TV loafing to the newsroom, unhindered by any real forms of research. He's even wearing the same clothes! His "broadcast" is basically a vlog -- and still less intellectual than than the YouTube videos of guys getting hit in the nuts.

I like the way the lettering is getting less and less legible. If the first panel is any indication, the strip's verbiage will soon look like one of the notebooks Charles Crumb filled with page after page of wavy lines. And probably for much the same reason — creeping insanity brought on by drug use (in Tin's case, alcohol).

Are you daffy, duck?

Reasonable estimates suggest that the Republican Party (not "The Tea Party,", as Tinsley tellingly conflates the two) will make a net gain of about 8 seats in the Senate, and around 50 seats in the House.

That's only about ten percent of all seats. Don't expect too much of a change, "overnight" or otherwise.

Interesting poll, considering the leader of the Democratic party, a certain B. Obama, is killing Muslims at a frantic pace, between Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, with drones, bombs, and bullets, and continually threatening other Muslim countries with endless sanctions and expanded wars.

Look! Concern troll remains concerned!

In this context, "troll" means having an independent thought. Sorry, dlautor, for making your brow furrow. Just go along with anything Obama does, because he's a Democrat. I thought the Tea Partiers were stupid!

Sorry, anonymous, it's just that it's impossible to tell why you've decided that this forum is the proper one for these complaints, and thus you sure as hell LOOK like you're trying to deflect attention from Tinsley's suckitude.

Kudos to Brucie for being sober enough to realize that he really should add the qualifier "may" to his little right-wing fantasy.

Meanwhile, for a genuine example of "It's funny because it's true", see today's Doonesbury.

...But golly, Ah thoughts Obama WUZ a seekrit Muslimite! Wow, he's really taking the cover-up to the nth level, ain't he!

I don't care if our latest troll is right-wing or progressive, the "frantic pace" bit is where it crosses over from potentially debatable argument to eye-rolling horseshit.

I'm sorry that Obama didn't wave his magic wand and end everything bad overnight; perhaps you should protest harder in an appropriate forum. Or vote for Nader. Yeah. That'd fix everthing.

Furthermore: being the contrary voice by regurgitating insanely false talking points is not "independent thought," it's an essential element of teabaggery. Good doggy!

One anonymous comment is just being too lazy to create a login.

Two anonymous comments is coincidence.

But three anonymous comments? you're actively afraid to own your speech.

Which --- in the safety of the internet --- is just silly. Get a login and have the guts to own your opinion.

Or be mocked. Frankly, "Mallard Fillmore" is as predictable as the Rt 37 bus so it's increasingly hard to comment.

Tinsley is hoping for a change because his policies have been driving formerly-faithful members away from his Neo-Nazi group. Here is Tinsley giving a speech to an unusually-small crowd: http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/154465/cartmans-rally, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxoKjwudruw.

Concern troll also has knickers in a wad, and is wildly off topic, not to mention an anonycoward.
