Those damned Sides

What's Mallard raving about today?

NPR, Juan Williams.

Mallard Fillmore just stated that unthinking fear of people who look like Muslims is a valid "Side" in some sort of national debate.

But racism is dead. I know because Mallard said so.

The joke's in the first balloon: "somebody cares about this crap."

Not even... this terrible metaphor is about "lactose intolerance", remember?

LACTASE DEFICIENCY IS JUST A THEORY. TEACH THE CONTROVERSY.

Also... if the person that Bruce Tinsley was too lazy to draw doing the interview doesn't work where the WFDR honcho that Bruce Tinsley was too lazy to draw is, then on what channel is this interview taking place? And why would the WFDR honcho agree to make that appearance?

One thing I'm heartily sick of is the assumption, cheerfully endorsed by the establishment media, that

1) there are exactly two "sides" to any question;

2) the two sides consist of the wingnut freaktard position, and a somewhat less freaktardish yet wussy position, defined by the first side, and designated as "librul".

Juan Williams and Bill O'Reilly said that they are afraid of people in Muslim clothing, so the controversy is: are they racists or merely cowards?

Let's present both sides!

(Dang, this stuff just writes itself, doesn't it?)

"Up next on the Tinshley Factor: brown people. Should they be kicked out of the country or just shot on sight? We'll talk about both sides after I finish off this bottle."

No, those are not the two sides. Tinsley believes the two sides are killing slowly and painfully over a reasonable period of time, versus keeping them alive as long as possible while they are under constant torture. He refuses to believe that anyone supports an alternative.

Word Verification: Conter, Tinsley's beliefs are conter to those that are opposite to the worst belief in the world.

Well, at least this time Mallard's batch is below the panel border, out of sight.

Present both sides! Vigorous debate is healthy!

"Yeah, like they do on FOX News!"

Sorry, but at this point I'm putting the same effort into commenting that Tinny does into cartooning.

Also, lol at ducky's call for 'vigorous debate' for a 'healthful nation'. Read: "I'm not getting my way, waaaaaahhhhh."

It's not a vigorous debate to discuss whether you find Muslims or yogurt scary. There's absolutely no studies or evidence that can support any arguments made. Any debate team handed it as a topic would flat out rebel and debate the sanity of the topic selector.

It's the racism that people want to express openly, and hate themselves for knowing that they shouldn't.
