That damned label

What's Mallard raving about today?

Racism, the Election.

The fact that this is the lesson Mallard drew from the 2008 election tells you everything you need to know about Mallard.

Right. He didn't sit through the entire 2008 campaign without learning anything; he staggered drunkenly through it without learning anything. I hope that clears up any misconceptions.

Word verification: belippe!

How can you look so smug when you're holding an Etch-a-Sketch?

I said this months ago, but must repeat:

I'm sure ducks throughout the world are saying "whoa - don't pull us into this!"

"If any of you disagree with me, it's obviously because you're . . ." is pretty much the definition of the ad hominem fallacy, and yes, we do see a lot of those during election campaigns. The idea that Mallard was unfamiliar with this before this campaign is the only laughable thing about this strip.

I admit this prejudice, but I only developed it after starting to read Mallard Fillmore...

Let's just point out the obvious falsehood:

Bruce, if recent strips are proving to be any indication, yes you did sit through the entire 2008 campaign without learning a thing.

All things considered we're perfectly willing to accept that this is unintentional; perhaps it is fully self-delusional. But it is a simple, clear falsehood nonetheless.

Mallard seems to be experiencing a dissociative fugue episode, where even his Turquoise Self doesn't want to be attached to the idiocy spewing from his Blacked-In Self's bill.

"...he staggered drunkenly through it without learning anything..."

He also drew a lot of crotch shots drunkenly, without learning anything.

Like: no-one's really interested in crotch shots of a duck.

P.S. what's with the "Dear Reader" bit? It's clear Tinkley's addressing readers who disagree with him, so calling us "dear" seems a little dishonest ... unless of course he loves the abuse.

You know, for being an affirmative action hire, Mallard probably shouldn't be saying stuff like that.

Tinz, hearing that Michael Savage shares the same prejudice as you doesn't count as learning.

Only one more week (hopefully) till the REALLY drunk-and-crazy stuff starts to hit -- the stuff he's been drawing post-election.

Because lest we forget, Indiana went for Obama this year. That alone should have caused a lot of drinking and crying at Casa de Tinshley.

i believe you're forgetting about furries, the target market of Mallard
Fillmore

No, no, no...

Furries love Cassandra Cat from Slylock Fox Comics for Kids or Ashley T. Bengal from My Cage. Mallard is sexy to no one.

Word verification -- sesetss -- What Mallard, in his drunken, slurring state, threatened to do when he heard Obama won. "Ah'm gunn sesetss from the yoo-*hic*nyunnunn."

Bruce is an a-hole, but if you replace "Duck" with "Fuckhead Republican Know-nothing", he actually nails it pretty well. It just happens that a majority of Americans are, in fact, anti-Fuckhead Republican Know-nothings.

gold-digging nanny- mallard would attract the same folks as the pluggers...decent hard-working folks, who don't know their ass from their elbow

Wait, I thought I voted for the terrorist lover.

But it's not anti, so I'm not a put-upon ironic victim like Mallard.
