Those damned pollsters

What's Mallard raving about today?

Polls, The Election.

Is it just me or does John McCain seem to be closing his eyes and wishing very, very hard?

100% percent of Conservatives say that any pollster who rates the opinion of Obama under 80% is a Communist. 0% of Communists are elitists but 100% of Republicans believe that 100% of liberals are both. 80% of Bush's supporters have I.Q.s under 70.

Notice how McCain's face is fairly normal-looking, but Obama's is all distorted and inhuman.

I realize that the coloring isn't Tinsley's fault, but shouldn't someone have realized that humans tend to exist along a pink-brown continuum, with grey (save the shiny, shiny nose) being an unusual skin color, to say the least?

92 + 84 = 100!

I'm so good at math.

My god - Barack is PURPLE, like the purple carrots I saw at the hippie grocery store yesterday. With all the talk about releasing McCain's medical records, no one had the time to examine Obama's liver? Someone call House.

Good observation, factinista - color aside, the contrast between the human and non-human is striking.

Today's strip has a pretty weak joke. I doubt many Americans are are tired of hearing about polls; Lots of Americans are following this election very closely - it's better than the World Series and the Superbowl combined.

I suspect that the text in today's "comic" is heavily overwritten to make up for the fact that it's one illustration, badly laid out at that, re-using Tinkley's stock characters. In other words, Tinkley's still the laziest "cartoonist" in the business.

This, in an age where artists are experimenting with layout! For just one example ... people love Wiley Miller's "Non Sequitur" not because of his political views (...although I basically agree with him...) but because you look at an example (such as today's delight) and you KNOW he's put a lot of work into it. The result packs more of a punch too!

Quality shows!

==========
factinista/michaeljohaely ... My friends, making Obama into some sort of elephant creature is Tinkley's unconscious mind pointing out that Obama is more faithful than McCain to the traditional Republican policy of nonintrusive government, nonagressive foreign policy and fiscal prudence. Maybe Tinkley's laziness stems from the debilitating realization that he's going to have to vote for the black man.

Yeah, I hate it when my candidate is behind in the polls, too.

Actually, it looks more like McCain is taking a wicked poop.
