That damned Age

What's Mallard raving about today?

Democrats, Republicans.

Actually, it's fairly easy to tell them apart.

Democrats are the ones who cave in at the first sign of resistance, even when resistance would be of benefit to the country.

Republicans are the ones who wont cross party lines, even when cooperation would be of benefit to the country.

Out of the 219 Republican congressmen who voted on the stimulus compromise, the 3 who voted for it must have really big voices.

Anyway, for the second day in a row, I think this is well drawn. Either Tinsley is sober this week, or he pulled a Jack Chick and outsourced to a talented artist.

Actually both parties are branches of the same corporatocracy. Back in 1962 my father told me that, once in a while, if a crumb falls off the plate, the Damorats might let you keep it. The Repugnicants won't even do that.

I wouldn't give Tinkley too much credit for the art work. The only thing in the picture is Blallard, and it looks like it's traced.

WV: wordiath. A literary giant (?!?) taken down by DaveyK?

I suspect outsourcing. Look at the signature; the letter after the "N" looks a lot like "K" !!!

Given the unanimous Republican opposition to Obama's bailout package in the House, and near-unanimous Republican opposition in the Senate, this comic makes no sense whatsoever.

Ah, but two weeks ago the talk was still all "bipartisanship!" and working together, and the Republicans' shenanigans hadn't fully asserted themselves. So apparently Tinshley is easily conned by his own party.

No doubt he now uses words like "RINO" when discussing Specter/Collins/Snowe.

President Obama's 2,000-point tumble...

On Nov. 4, after Barack Obama clinched the White House, the market closed at 9,625.28.

In mid-morning trading today, the day President Obama signs his massive Generational Theft Act into law and a day before he unveils a massive new mortgage entitlement, the Dow dropped to 7,606.53. Today the Dow finished down 371 points.

Now, imagine if President Bush had presided over a 2,000-point stock market tumble in the same time period — during the first few months of his presidency.

Great start, O.

Anon/Tinsley:
You do realize that GW was in office in and after November? Obama became President on January 20, 2009. According to Dow Jones, the average was at 7949 that day. So, since Obama has been in office, it is now at has gone down about 400 points. Now, on November 4th, it was indeed at 9625.28 -- meaning that under GW's watch, it fell 1676 points.

So, starting where you did (and using your same loose understanding of Indexes), GW averaged a drop of 800 a month, and so far Obama has 500. You're right, that is a good start.

"Realize" got nothin' to do with it. Being too stupid to phrase his talking points in his own words, too lazy to think about what he steals for ten seconds, and too dishonest to care, Anonymous Chickenshit plagiarized that entire post from Michelle Malkin.

That would be brilliant, if it weren't for the 4500 point drop in the DJI in the 13 months prior to Obama's election. Grover Norquist didn't let that stop him from blaming Obama for that, either. Brilliant. Really.

Oh, and from Bush's inauguration to Sept. 21, '01, the DJI declined 2342 points. Big F'n whoop.

And if you're going to quack about generational theft, you really ought to take a look at the deficits piled up by Reagan and Bush.

Really.

Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is haunted by ethics and tax issues. Question, do any of BO's appointees pay taxes? Where does he find these people? They are either Clinton retreads or his thug friends from Chicago.

How many is this now 6 or 7 with tax problems? This would be amusing but the sad part is the "Bamster" and his gang are now running the country. Is anyone on BO's staff actually vetting these people or does BHO really care?

B. Hussein Obama a one man recession.

Thought for today...

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody's there, does it make a sound? If Obama's running around saying all kinds of weird, strange things and nobody is criticizing him for them, did he say strange things?

With Home equity losses of over 6 trillion dollars from 2006 through 2008, I can see why you think this is Obama's recession.

Twit.

Really.

I'm Anonymous from 7:02, 7:09 and 7:27, and actually I'm the one running around saying all kinds of weird, strange things!

I'm just projecting my deep-seated psychological pathologies onto him because I resent successful black people! I have a hard-on for belly-aching about Obama (the more misleading the better!) but I have not yet once criticized Bush + Republicans for six years of historically unparalleled financial depravity and recklessness. 'Cuz I'm smart!

And I'll scream that I'm smart at you until you believe!

Wow... lot of anon trolling on this one.

Still, I've got to agree that it isn't that hard to tell the two groups apart. The Republicans are the villains, the Democrats are the cowards.

Wasn't the sharpest market drop right around when Sarah Palin was announced as McCain's running mate?

Isn't Rush Limbaugh being paid a lot of money and criticizing Obama? And doesn't FOX news have all sorts of programs that criticize?

Is there really this belief that the fear indoctrination has made Pavlov proud that reactions are controlled by the mere mention of a middle name?

And what's the monetary difference between "not paying taxes" and "not paying all taxes correctly"?

Anonymous said...

"Not paying taxes" = Tom Daschle.

"Not paying all taxes correctly" = Sarah Palin.

It's OK, If You're A Republican

I, for one, am glad to see the GOP finally admit that paying taxes is the patriotic duty of every American.

And I'm sure we will never again see an election where they desperately insist that taxation is "socalism".
