That damned Store

What's Mallard raving about today?

Electronics Stores.

The first two questions, in which Mallard cannot remember why he went to the store in the first place, suggest some for of mental breakdown.

As for that last question, I suggest you look no further than this for your answer.

Shouldn't this be a "Pluggers" comic instead?

Isn't this just a variant of the standard MF TV strip?

Something like "Gosh, TV shows today are rotten. Why, just last Tues I turned on the TV at 2:30 in the afternoon and by 5 the next morning I only saw one or two things that made me even chuckle. What an absolute waste of time!"

In other words, to save yourself some time just google:
joke "such small portions"

Mental breakdown? No, just drunk again.

Can't wait to see what Anonymous Duckfart posts next! Oh, wait. I can. I can wait forever, in fact.

"Electronics store" is Mallard's polite euphamism for sex toy shop. Hey, with some of the recent advances in the field, technically that's true.

At least "Pluggers" is humble. You won't see a Plugger warning the president that he'll be keeping an eye on him.

I think half of Mallard's confusion comes from walking into a stationary store instead of an electronics shop. I never seen a Best Buy or Radioshack hang paper on the wall. At least draw some TVs or phones.

And what's wrong with having new gadgets and other devices anyway? A quick read through the manual or a search online for a simplified guide would help in operating whatever device you're having problems with. I guess Tinsley is stumped when it comes to any device more complicated than a television remote.

The fact that Mallard is drunk in an electronics store doesn't concern me, but the artwork does. In that last panel, Mallard's body, the foreground shelves, and the background shelves are all seen from different angles, and there is no floor line. If Tinsley submitted this to an intermediate drawing class, he would fail. Looking at the humor and artwork in today's cartoon, is there any doubt Mallard Fillmore owes its existence entirely to affirmative action?

The only legible piece of stationary is called "MOT". That's appropriate, because instead of containing a "bon mot", this cartoon just has a mot.

I wasn't a fan of this, but the only conclusion which makes sense is, that Mallard's drunk.

Tinsley hates both philosophy and technology, thus, he hates anyone who understands either.
