That damned Suggestion

What's Mallard raving about today?

Katie Couric, Muslims, Baby Boomers.

What happens when you decide to just toss two completely disparate and irrational hatreds into a single panel? You get today's completely mystifying effort.

Katie Couric, amiright? And Muslims, imagine them having a TV sitcom!Oh, and you Baby Boomers with your Bob Dylan and pot smoking! All of you...get off of my lawn!

Oh, for $%#@'s sake. Like Batshit has any business snickering about someone else's mental impairment from substance abuse. Case in point: THIS STRIP.

Meanwhile, his fellow loons are getting up in arms because Batman (who is currently setting up a worldwide crime-fightin' franchise in the comic books) appointed a Muslim as his French counterpart. A MUSLIM I TELL YOU!!!!!111!!!1

I repeat: Oh, for $%#@'s sake.

Who does Mallard like anyway? He hates baby boomers, he hates Generation X, he hates the current generation, he hates teenagers, so on and so forth.

Of course, if Tinsley actually had any fucking clue whatsoever about the cultural milieu he hates so he would know that the song in question is in fact titled "Rainy Day Women #12 and 35." The fact that he doesn't--but still insists on bitching about it!--just proves what we already knew: that he's a completely idiotic dipshit who likes whining piteously and senselessly about things he doesn't even remotely understand.

Oh, the horror, Muslims on television. Because the last thing we need is to have them enjoy American pastimes, like making ridiculous sitcoms about people solving all their problems in 23 minutes or less, potentially while drinking. How dare someone try to break my horrible stereotype!

FHMC Geox already beat me to Tinsley's ignorance about the song title (although even if he did know the actual title, he probably wouldn't use it because his audience would be baffled by it...I mean the segment of his audience that buys into his crap based on ignorance and laziness...you know "Katie Couric...dur dur dur...she's a libtard....hur hur hur" types....who am I kidding, Tinsley doesn't know the title, nor does he realize that Dylan was using the word "stoned" with the same double meaning that he himself is using, so Tinsley is probably congratulating himself for a joke that he deserves no credit for....so take that Tinz, this stupid baby boomer, hippie [Dylan was actually neither, nor was he strictly a "folksinger" but distinction like these are lost on dumbass] has a better facility with words and ideas than you...hell, Bob Dylan's farts are more profound that Tinsley's best work.)

Once again, I'm reminded of a (better IMHO) Dylan song "Ballad of a Thin Man" (if Tinsley's even heard of it he probably would call it "Mr. Jones") with the line:

"Because something is happening here - But you don't know what it is - Do you, Mister Jones?"

I can't tell any more. Is there an actual link at the bottom of the panel, or is it just a burst of cartoon profanity (aka "grawlix")?

"Mallard Libs" is a polemic template word game where one player prompts another for a list of persons, places, or things they hate to substitute for blanks in a story, usually with dull or incomprehensible results.

Madpuppy said...

Mallard's link is simply "AP". Does anyone know if what statement of Couric's he's actually referring to?

Is Couric's being on the wingnut shit list entirely the result of her asking Princess Sarah a series of softball questions that she was nonetheless too dumb to be able to answer? 'Cause I'd never thought of Ms. "Navy SEALs rawk" as particularly or ever slightly liberal.

"KATIE COURIC hurrdurr MUSLIM hurrdurr SITCOM hurrdurr"

Why do we need a fucking asterisk?

Tog said...

@Madpuppy: Back around the start of the new year, Couric suggested America needed a Muslim "Cosby Show" to show us they weren't all out to kill us.

It was a clumsy, mildly offensive suggestion in response to an ongoing, patently offensive campaign from the wrong wing, so naturally Batshit's gears are all ground up over it.

Just Goog "couric muslim show," you'll get the details (and an opportunity to wade through the more immediate wrong wing responses). Between this and Rush Limbaugh's LATEST embarrassment of our nation (as mocked by Colbert), I don't see how even a fartslug like Batshit can maintain his "We're not racist! YOU are!" nonsense.

You're being facetious, right? Research, obviously. Gallons and gallons of research.

WV: puttliv. What one of Brucie's most important viscera is becoming as a result of all that research.

Am I wrong or did he suggest that fake title based on stoning people? If so, fuck him.

Also - Little Mosque on the Prairie is awesome and somewhere online for non Canadians.

"Who does Mallard like anyway?..."

Nobody. It is a sad, depressing world Brewsky lives in, although whether this is the cause or the effect of the alcoholism may be one of those which-came-first-the-duck-or-the-angst questions.

You know what I'd love to see? Star Trek with a Muslim Communications officer, giving James T Kirk TV's first interreligious kiss!

Seriously, a Muslim-themed sitcom could be kinda fun. They could staff it with the guys from the Axis of Evil tour

God forbid, we ever depict muslims as anything but frenzied savages, frothing with rage of all that is good and pure, while the still warm entrails of baby christians wobble from their teeth.
Also, liberals are the REAL racists!

Breaking News: But good news! To all the loyal followers of MSNBC which I would have to believe most of you are.

MSNBC ends contract with Olbermann. They fired the master of epic douchebaggery. Perhaps he was not liberal enough for them.

Steve-O said...

Thanks for that Anonytroll!

We wouldn't have been able to figure that out without a gloating douchebag like you to let us in on the Breaking News! I'm sure Keith will do just fine and find a place to land soon. Why don't you go back to your mom's basement and masterbate to the Sarah Palin photoshops you downloaded from the comments over at Redstate?

Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 isn't even about drugs. I mean if you really listen to it it goes "They'll stone ya..." Meaning having stones thrown AT you. In this case "getting stoned" is more in line with the stoning of Stephen...or that funny scene from Monty Python's LIFE OF BRIAN.

DiR said...

Good news, everyone! Something happened that basically disproves my entire thesis!

Can't fathom why people think teabaggers are incapable of critical thinking.

Oh, Tinsnonymous, you sad, sad fool. Is there a grown-up around to keep your shoes tied, or do you depend on Velcro?

Meanwhile, Racist Rush and Bawlin' Beck are dropping sponsors by the hour. If they weren't GOP welfare recipients, they'd be off the airwaves by now. HAW!

(This is where you cite carefully cherry-picked numbers to pretend they're both bigger than Jesus. HAW!)
